Trump is getting help from a unexpected source; SOme of the Progressives have really turned on Biden over Gaza. And now they are attacking himw fo rhis condemantion of some Anti Semitic behavior from some of the Gaza Protestors.
Keep it up guys and enjoy Trump 2.0.
What gets to me is the inablity of people to see stupid and bad behavior when it comes from their wing of politics.
 
Well, net neutrality is back. Net neutrality is one more excellent reason to vote for Biden and the Democrats and against Trump and the Republicans.

It may pale in importance compared to some of the bigger reasons to vote for Biden and the Democrats like upholding Democracy, Rule of Law, and such, but it's also something that's more concrete, holds strong bipartisan support, and has more obvious selfish appeal for the consumers that it protects. What has the Biden Administration done for us? Acted to protect us where the Trump Administration acted to screw us over.

It's just the short memory voters seem to have. Trump was the bully, so he will set Israel in line. Only he did nothing of the sort the first time around. And he does not care if all of Gaza is wiped off the map.

Strange themes, strange voters. October surprise?

I'm a progressive and rather unhappy with Biden's Gaza policy, but
Honestly, even if Biden suddenly changed his political views and announced he was in favor of a nationwide ban on abortion, tax cuts for the wealthiest, and the tripling of US oil and gas production, along with building the wall, I'd still vote for him over Trump. At least with Biden, after 4 years there would be hope for the future. With Trump, I do not believe it is hyperbole that he (along with his enablers) will do everything possible to prevent future legitimate elections. A Trump dynasty would be the true death knell of the American experiment.

Well, it will come as no real surprise if he is sitting in jail for felony convictions. But I'm not holding my breath.

I'm glad you can see that, but I wonder how much the protest movement is going to hurt him.

I don't think they'll vote Trump, but if a whole lot of young voters don't vote, their non-votes will become a win for Trump anyway.
 
Approval/disapproval is the wrong kind of poll to look at. (Especially when the questions are about how you think life went during the candidate's first term as President, rather than how the person did the job; a popular President can preside over bad times and an unpopular one can preside over good times, and people know that to one extent or another.)

Only the polls asking how people will vote matter (and those only in about five or six states). In those, Trump does worse than he does in approval/disapproval numbers. And the reason is simple: although (barely) more people disapprove of Biden, they disapprove of him less. Many of the same people disapprove of Trump too, but disapprove of him more, and some of those will vote for the one they only mildly disapprove of over the one they intensely disapprove of. It's pretty dismal for that to be the best hope the party has left to cling to because of how they've spent a generation or two treating their own base (especially behind the ironic mantra "ELECTABLE!!!!"), but it's not nothing.

A Milwaukee business owner joined former President Donald Trump on stage Wednesday to assail ‘migrants’ and President Joe Biden during a campaign stop in Waukesha County.

Shana Gray, the co-owner of Gray Jett Cafe, a vegan restaurant on the Marquette University campus, joined Trump on stage at the Waukesha County Exposition Center.

Trump vowed to visit the restaurant, 1617 W. Wells St., during the Republican National Convention.

“It’s supposed to be really good. I’m not into the vegan stuff I must say, but I’m going to have to try this. When we come here in a short period of time, into Milwaukee, we’re going to come and try that vegan food. I don’t know if I’m going to like it,” said Trump.

He then claimed Gray and her cafe did better when he was in office.

“Shana says her business is being brutalized by the soaring cost of food. She’s never seen anything like it. And right now she says things just aren’t working. She was doing great three and a half years ago, she was doing better than she ever did. ‘During the Trump years,’ she said, ‘I was able to afford things. I wasn’t worried about my future. I am now,” said Trump.

Except that Gray’s restaurant on Wells St. opened in August 2023, more than two years after Trump left office.

“It is very important that we change what is going on now. None of us can continue what is going with the Biden administration,” said Gray after taking the stage. “We need Trump in 2024, so make sure you vote Trump in 2024.”

“Just recently I had a migrant come into my cafe that recently passed through the borders and paid for their food with one of the prepaid cards they were given,” said Gray. “How is that as a slap in the face as a proud American who worked hard, just like each one of you? And to be affected by the food costs, utility costs, to have someone just come and just willy nilly pay for their food, in my cafe, with prepaid dollars that was funded by us.”

But Gray, according to federal court records, has received her own prepaid food.

She has filed for bankruptcy three times in the past decade and reported receiving Food Share benefits in the most recent filing.

Well, I'm sure that her pro-Trump announcement can only help a business that caters to vegans and is located on the Marquette University campus. Because we know how much vegans and young people love Trump!

Most likely outcome: This hurts her business, Trump and few or no Republican conventioneers visit her cafe, and she goes for bankruptcy number 4. But for the rest of her days, she can be proud that she was just one of millions of useful idiots for a man who forgot about her existence the moment she stepped off the stage!

Why does none of that surprise me? Trump totally lying about Gray's restaurant doing great before it even opened and Gray complaining about someone else doing what she did herself. "Fine for me but not for thee" should be a MAGA slogan.

Her opponent, Ruben Gallego, has been on the air for several weeks now, but I have yet to see a Lake ad. That's no accident:

Perhaps he's a Democrat. And in some future election will be AOC's VP candidate. I'm normally against political dynasties specifically and people following their parents generally but that would be pretty funny.
