And perhaps you don't know **** about third trimester abortions. Not that the news media is very informative about it.

If a pregnancy is ended after the fetus is viable, the babies are treated like any premature infants, you work hard and sometimes the care runs in the millions to keep the baby alive.

If the pregnancy is ended because the infant isn't viable then generally that baby might be given minimal care but it certainly would wouldn't be killed.

Usually one is talking about a mother or and infant that is in trouble late in the pregnancy. The baby is delivered to save it or to save the mother. Those kids do fine, no one kills them.

FTFY.

I repeat: Be careful. Confusing the issue with facts can cause MAGA brains to explode.

It's a cult

As much as I hate to admit it, kind of feels that way. Like cult members, they are hard to reason with.

I'm fine with political disagreement if it's just that. But not vilifying and ridiculing in spittering way with absolutely no chance of dialogue or a reasonable discussion.

Unfortunately, they won't. They only hurt him among folks that aren't going to vote for him anyway.

There are apparently a non-trivial amount of Republican voters that criminal convictions would cause to lose their vote according to battleground state polls.

Of course, whether that turns up and in what magnitude is anyone's guess.

big picture he’s spending campaign money and campaign time in trials getting yelled at by judges and falling asleep regardless of the outcome, which also isn’t looking so hot

Yeah but publicly bragging about sexual assault, perving on your own daughter, mocking a disabled person, and having that haircut should have hurt him too.

I'm not seeing there being a big "A coup was one thing but hush money is a step too far!" sliver in the ole' Venn Diagram.

I mean sure politics is weird (citation needed) and voters are often fickle (citation needed) so nothing is sure but we've heard "Well this is gonna make him look bad!" far too many times.

it’s more about resource allocation to me. he needs to be holding rallies and campaigning and looking like a president. he looks old and tired and every day in a courtroom is a day off the campaign trail. and he’s burning through money

In 2016 the massive media coverage he had was free campaign money. He then skipped out on paying for some of those rallies and I believe he spent very little on actual campaign costs.

2024 is playing the same tune.

The ability for Trump cultists to convince themselves that whatever Trump says is rational and sane never ceases to amaze me. It explains the delusional mindset of people willing to commit suicide and kill their own children as demonstrated by Magda and Joseph Goebbels, the Jonestown massacre, Heaven's Gate, etc.

'Our Leader Is Always Right".

That sound familair for some reason.........

Well, as a small follow-up when it comes to how much Republicans care about kids -

Louisiana lawmakers vote to remove lunch breaks for child workers, cut unemployment benefits
A House committee approved the bill along with others to reduce unemployment benefits and workers' compensation wages.

Truly, they love and care about kids when they hold power. Can't you feel it?

From you link:
First-term state Rep. Roger Wilder, R-Denham Springs, who sponsored the child labor measure and owns Smoothie King franchises across the Deep South, said he filed the bill in part because children want to work without having to take lunch breaks. He questioned why Louisiana has the requirement while other states where he owns Smoothie King locations, such as Mississippi, don't have them, and criticized people who have questioned the bill's purpose.

“The wording is ‘We’re here to harm children.’ Give me a break," he said. "These are young adults.”

The committee approved his bill 10-3.

Yeah, I don't know any 16- or 17-year-olds who want to eat lunch instead of working!

What an idiot.

Did your own homework for you. The incidents you refer to are exceptionally rare, and are all the result of fetal abnormalities or premature labour for various natural reasons. NOT abortions. Unless, of course, you are dumb enough to call stillbirths and other natural phenomena "abortions". If so, you need to go back to school and learn a LOT more about human reproduction.

Google...0.09 seconds later...

Evidently you didn't do enough homework to actually read the name of the bill or anything about it.

H.R.26 - Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act
Sorry, but it's unspinnable.

For you, obviously. A law that is entirely redundant and yet utterly pointless is clearly a breakthrough in the legal arts. LOL

So please tell us how many aborted foetuses have been born alive so far?

And don't count miscarriages, still births, premature births or full term deliveries as "abortions".

Facts, please.
