I think that quantum physics might make things more complicated, especially if you take the many worlds interpretation. It may be a valid interpretation of quantum physics to say that, the spacetime in which we live is the quantum superposition of every spacetime in which we could live. That is, the future is (from our frame of reference) like Schrodinger's Cat. Thus, even though ultimately the future is just another part of spacetime, it's still shrouded from direct observation. Of course, it's possible that the future could be observed somehow (some sort of wacky wormhole voodoo, for instance) but I don't think this makes psychic abilities more plausible.

And why is it so many of the woos ignore the serious responses like mine, just to get all pissy about a few people posting about kicking them in the nuts? If they really want a "serious" discussion, why don't they just ignore the twaddle?

Hey, my post about gonad kicking was one of the ones he didn't get pissy about, mainly because it was addressing his idea!

1. Time either flows forward like a rivulet of water on a windowpane or is a static chain of time bubbles (like pearls on a strand).
2. If time is static, then it should be more likely that psychics are real because all they would have to do is communicate between already-existing time bubbles and that has to be easier than seeing where the rivulet will run down the window.
3. These skeptics think they're so smart.

5. And once they agree that time is static, they will have to agree that psychics exist.
6. Then they'll realize that all of their "skepicism" has led them to woo and they will disappear in a puff of logic.

Both special relativity and quantum mechanics deal with a static four dimensional world with fixed events. Yet I experience a dynamic space with the time component essentially flat - an eternal now with no past and no future. Anyway way, it matters not for our lovely psychic. For in a dynamic universe the future, just like the past, does not exist, thus no information can flow from it. And in a static four dimensional universe the psychic cannot access the future, just like the past, because the psychic cannot receive and transmit any signal that travels back and forth through time. The only signals that exist in such a space time become fixed events and cannot move.

His "idea" was that he was going to set a trap for smart people. When we didn't all line up to take the bait, he got discouraged and left. It had nothing to do with how nice people were or were not being.
 
I'm well aware of that Loss, I just object to having one of the few posts that he responded to seriously picked out as being an example of one of the posts that he took umbrage with.
