I'd like to forage in the world of free operating systems. Which is the easiest for a beginner to get on with? I'm presuming it's worth actually buying one of the systems to obtain written instructions as I've had a little look at Knoppix but most of it was alien to me.
i am running suse 9.1 , but i am finding it quite tricky getting original dvd's to run on it . i am a linux newbieish , anyone with the same experience .

I currently have a dual boot computer at home running Windows 98 and Suse 8.something Linux. I'm considering giving that computer to the wife since she is beginning to use it often for a new artistic outlet, and I want to get a pure Linux machine for my own use.
I have plenty of professional...

These are the self-same d!ckheds who tried to buy UNIX code rights from one particualr company, and failed. Then they went ahead and said that they didn't have to; they already had the rights due to previous licensing.

I am new to this forum and have done some searching but cannot find any previous info about listening to James' Internet Audio shows via Linux (Using KDE desktop, Mozilla/Firebird browser).
Is this the right place to ask this kind of question?
It seems a little narrow to exlude all other...
