Interesting Uri Geller documentary here. I haven't finished it yet, but so far I've learned:
Geller started his career as a model (for cigarette and deodorant ads, among others).
At Geller's wedding, Michael Jackson was his best man.
Jesus Christ and George Bush have 11 letters in their name...
In 1968 Granada Television (England) interviewed L. Ron Hubbard about scientology in a documentary called "The Shrinking World of L. Ron Hubbard". Xenu.net has made it available for download along with a transcript. A very interesting look at Hubbard and his "church."
Interesting documentary movie I learned about today.

If the movie itself is as clever as the poster and tagline, it should be an excellent show.
Has anyone seen it and wish to share thier thoughts?
So, perusing Netflix today, I came upon this little gem. Comes out one week from today:
I don't think I need to say more. I'll write a review when it arrives and I watch it.
PS - Been a while, has it not?
I'm not sure what it will be like, but tonight on Channel 5 at 8 pm in the UK there is a programme about genuine flying saucers that have been produced over the last 70 years or so by various R&D/military facilities.
Anyone watch this last night on Channel 9? I think it was one of the more unbiased doco's about the paranormal. Channel 9 did a great job in bringing noted skeptics such as Michael Shermer, and several PhD's from Harvard Uni to explain and debunk most of the issues.
It was a far better attempt...
The Bush memos are a thread elsewhere so I thought I would post this connected story I ran across.
The First Rathergate - September 15, 2004
Personally I dislike Dan Rather, I find him a self-important talking head with delusions of grandeur. But I never heard about "Rathergate" ;) until today.

I was blown away by the movie but I thought it useful to check around the web to see what people had to say about it. Things seemed too good to be true, and here's somewhat of a proof. Moore is very talented, and I think he has a point, but the...
I agree that Moore does make several conclusions that seem to be as bizare as the ones he discounts. As far as Moore's Oscar acceptance speech, he spoke at University of Denver, I believe about a month before the Oscars and said that he did not want an Oscar because he couldn't be trusted on...
I found this in Roger Ebert's current Q &A column. I'll only post the first bit and link to the entire article. - Mike
