Chiropractic appears to be the "skeptics choice of alternative medicine" - in that many people who will happily agree that homeopathy, faith healing, and so forth are bollocks, but swear by chiropractic.
It has apparently been pretty thoroughly discredited. Fair enough. But forgive the n00b...
Does anyone here know of the weirdness of chiropractic, there seems to be a huge fight going on as to whether they should maintain a pseudoscientific paradigm or become specialist neuromuscular skeletal practitioners with evidence.

My sister has back pain, and wants to go to a chiropractor for it. She says her doctors always tell her nothing is wrong, but she knows she's in pain. I told her chiropractors believe crazy things, and will keep telling her she's in pain so she keeps going back.
Where should she go instead? Or...
Apologies for the length and rambling nature of this post and also using 'chiropractic' if it should have been chiropractice or chiropracticy but my spell checker just won't have it...
I know that there have been several threads about chiropractic here already and I have read them with interest...
