So... I found this this morning.
I have a subscription to an academic database, but it's been down for a day or so and I'm not sure when it's coming back up. I'll have to wait until it comes up to view the article in its entirety (if it's listed there).
Has anyone seen this article before...
I enjoyed the article very much, so just wanted to share it. It was presented in Randi's commentary almost 3 years ago, so perhaps not everyone has read it before. Enjoy!

Interesting from a psychology standpoint also, according to this guy humans don't really multi-task very well and men and woman multi-task equally as well. I don't know how solid this guys research is.
Anyone heard of him?

I had a separate issue with this column, and one that is neither completely the fault of Randi nor Mary, the reader reporting this incident, but illustrates a couple of important misperceptions about psychiatric care and trying to make armchair diagnoses without having the full picture.
It was...
Dean Hamer, a molecular biologist with the National Cancer Institute, believes he has found the primary gene determinative of a person's religiosity. A study he recently conducted and details in his new book, The God Gene: How Faith is Hardwired into Our Genes, has shown a significant...

This on-line article in only a teaser. The full article is one of the better ones written for public consumption.
I decided to celebrate my morning-after-Rosh-Hashanah with a bit of fun googling, so I googled up the words "Jesus was a witch" just to see what kind of interesting things would come up.
Needless to say, I found some of the predicatable material which attempts to find parallels between the life...
I thought I'd share this.
An interesting interview with Jamie Whyte, a proponent of critical thinking at New Scientist.

I've found little that better illustrates the collision between science and the woo-woo crowd. Plus its kind of funny.
Like Mr. Randi, I wrote to Eye Byron, the author of the helenair.com article on the dowsing group. I received a reply on Tues 24th, and wrote back again, but didn't hear from her a second time. I've reproduced the mailings below for those that might like to read them...
Her reply:
My second...

Is the baby-boomer generation really going to change the political landscape as much as this article predicts?

I'm sure this has been seen here before, but i only just came across it. It's just baloney!

I wasn't here on Easter (not yet registered) so I'll post this a bit late. I composed it on Easter day and psoted it to various other MBs and since then added one section to it.
Its actually quite short (compared to my other lengthy works) and this makes it accessable to a wider audience (as...
I found this be an very interesting read:

A good friend and long-time Republican put it this way: "Your average enthusiastic movement conservative is basically so adolescent and emotionally fragile that he does not see political activity as a...
My friend Michael Goodspeed just wrote up this article below, which he told me was also posted on Jeff Rense's site too. (www.rense.com I think)

Some time ago a guy asked me to write for his new politics website. I accepted, but he didn't respond. Then a few weeks ago he wrote me again. Seems that he put up an article by my arch-nemesis from the CHUD board. Now after reading his article The Sanctitiy of Marriage, saying that gay...
Amazing Meeting speaker Stephen Barrett has an article on Lorraine Day at Quackwatch:

I need an article from the Metabolism, Clinical and Experimental journal. Unfortunately it's a rather old one, from 1994, and is not available online. I also can't locate the specific journal in local libraries. If someone has easy access to it and it's not too much trouble...
I have spent a lot of time on homeopathic BBs lately. The idea was to find out what makes homeopaths tick, although of course, some heated discussions (and one banning) ensued.
The result of this is an article on homeopathy, a review of the Organon of Medicine, and a fledgeling skeptic site by...
