Where do you stand on acupuncture?

does it have any health effects? if so, is it explainable by science? Its not something I commonly hear railed against by science, like homeopathy is.

    Quack Doctor at Duke

www dot chronicle dot duke dot edu /vnews/display.v/ART/2005/12/02/4390392b96cd6 (I'm a new member and still under the 15 post restriction; maybe someone can post the entire link) This is an article titled "Tap your hidden potential" in Duke University's school paper. Basically, Dr. Larry...

    Acupuncture at Stanford

I just learned today that Stanford University Hospital uses acupuncture in its anesthesiology department. If they could prove some efficacy, wouldn't that qualify for the challenge? Acupuncture

My local football team is treating torn hamstrings with acupuncture! I want to point out to them the absurdity of that. My situation is my aunt has been suffering long term illness related to diabetes, and has a severe pain in her back that so far has been undiagnosed. Recently she made an appointment with a man who is both an...

    Study shows acupuncture doesn't work

From today's news This is very good news, because acupuncture is one quack treatment that seems to be accepted by a fairly large number of otherwise rational people. Of course, pin-heads will still continue to claim that it works for other things. Give it time. They'll all be debunked.
