Looking at the assets from the last few years (they didn't seem to file a 990 for 2009) at ( http://dynamodata.fdncenter.org/990s/990search/esearch.php ):

ORGANIZATION NAME STATE YEAR ASSETS FORM PAGES EIN
Society of Novus Spiritus Corporati NV 2010 $2,032 990EZ 6 20-8399991

Society of Novus Spiritus Corporation NV 2007 $546 990ER 7 20-8399991

From the most recent 990, which shows the most amount of activity (2010), mentions numbers:

• • • • • • • • •

What is the organization 's primary exempt purpose?

So for Browne's church in the state of Nevada at its peak, they had thirty people and earned $560 for hypnosis. Then they sent Browne $295, bought $303 worth of books and paid $450 for accounting. So even at its best, it is only a few dozen people involved with a few thousand in assets.

Interesting. The organisation had a much bigger revenue in 2001 = $488,217 than in 2007 = $4303 or 2008 = $5361. I wonder what happened between 2002 and 2006

StopSylvia went live in November of 2006. Her blunder in the Shawn Hornbeck case was on the site in January 2007.

But, while I would love to think that my site had that big an impact on her bottom line that quickly, I think there have to be other factors at play in this.

ExM,

You mention all the time that you were somehow involved with Syliva. Is there a thread that specifically details your story? I searched for posts by you with Sylvia's name and there's over 200 threads going back to 2008, but I didn't notice any with a thread title like "My time on the Dark Side".

Hmm. I don't know that I've ever written anything like that here.

What kinds of things would you like to know?

Maybe I can create a thread with that story. I like the title: My time on the Dark Side. Ha.

I guess it never occurred to me that anyone would be interested, but I could probably write something up.

I'd be interested too, especially how you got interested in her organization and church as well as what others around her think about Browne.
