"The grave holding the remains of Adolf Hitler's deputy Rudolf Hess has been destroyed to stop it being used as a pilgrimage site by neo-Nazis.
Hess's bones were exhumed at the graveyard in the town of Wunsiedel, southern Germany, early on Wednesday.
The remains were later cremated and are to be scattered at sea.
Hess was captured after flying to Britain in 1941 and sentenced to life in prison. He killed himself in a Berlin jail in 1987 at the age of 93."

Can Neo-Nazis swim?

well their heads can float like empty plastic containers.

Good move. This knuckle dragger and his cronies have continued to cause more death and destruction after they were dead than just about any other crowd of thugs from the 20th Century. Good riddance.

They did?????????

I was commenting on McVeigh.
It was McVeigh's intent to start the RaHoWa. We have groups training for it now in my area.(Part of why I pack heat.) Every now and again they try to kill somebody and all too often succede.

I wouldn't be surprised if nothing had been done to the grave, apart from the removal of the gravestone(s).

Those who were treating the gravesite as a 'holy place' would be thick enough to fall for it...

While it is quite clear that Nazi were criminal, I am not sure Hess was.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolf_Hess

He was certainly found not guilty of crime against humanity or war crime.
What he was found guilty of is : "he was found guilty on two of four counts: crimes against peace (planning and preparation of aggressive war) and conspiracy with other German leaders to commit crimes". Crimes against peace sound more like "we won so we'll condemn you with stupid charge because we don't want to see you free". SAme for conpiracy with other german leader, seeing he was not found guilty of any real crime. I must be missing something obvious here, because it looks more a petty "we won you lost" than anything else.

From what is written inside the wiki, he seemed only mentally ill if anything in the last decades.

I am not sure in that context why neo nazi revere him, but then again they don#t seem to be rational people so...

Do you think there is any chance they deep sixed him next to Bin Laden?

Frankly, I doubt he was even exhumed. It's fairly common in Germany that the visible part of the grave gets leveled, headstone removed etc. after a few decades (the plot is rented out to the bereaved in long-term leases for various lengths, with options to have a grave for yourself). Only graves of 'celebrities' get kept. The remains are usually not removed. The plot is not used for another few decades, with further decomposition of the remains, and then gets re-used.

So I wouldn't exclude that just this happened. The city officials responsible simply declared him a non-celebrity and let the lease, if there was one, expire. Exhumation, cremation and shipping to sea is too expensive and uncommon. Simply a ploy to remove a worshipping location.

Oh yeah! Great, just great.
That just ruined the conspiracy theory I am trying to start.

Thanks.
