Cultural And Mental Slavery?

I am always amazed at the level of mental retardation that Christian fundamentalists have to go through to maintain their “faith”.

But even more humiliating and more puzzling is the extent of SERVITUDE that they agree to undergo to maintain any sense of their “faith”.

They have undergone a mental acquiescence to God’s DESPOTIC TOTALITARIANISM and reconciled themselves that he is a KING and thus must not be questioned and can only be obeyed.

But what is mind boggling is that they have also totally SUBMITED to the biblical assertion that Israelites are god’s CHOSEN PEOPLE and thus are SUPERIOR and MORE PURE than the sinning gentiles….. compare that to the 1000 years of murdering Jews (???).

Recently in a discussion with a true fundamentalist I asked him what he thought of Deut 14:21

“Don’t eat any animal that has died by itself. You may give the dead animal to the foreigner in your town, and he can eat it. Or you may sell the dead animal to a foreigner. But you yourselves must not eat the dead animal, because you belong to the Lord your God. You are his special people.”​

He, nonchalantly replied

“So what is wrong with that?”​

He cannot see anything objectionable in the fact that God warns his Chosen to not eat ROADKILLS while advising them to sell it to gentiles.


What is your opinion? Would you object to someone selling you meat from an animal that died for some unknown reason (not slaughtered)? Do you think that a God who orders some people to CHEAT others is more akin to a DEVIL? What do you think of the extent of MODERN fundamentalist SUBMISSIVENESS and MENTAL and CULTURAL SLAVERY?

Once more proving that the Bible is nothing more than a tribal doctrine that should have died out centuries ago. Nothing in the passage above could possibly come from a loving creator, much less one with any wisdom or decency.

Hitchens said it best when he compared heaven to a celestial North Korea. And when he said religion was the birth of sado-masochism. I don't understand how any one could read some passages in the bible and maintain their faith. It's made quite clear in both the Old and New Testament that god is a sadist whose only real desire it to be worshipped. He'll overlook any sin except that.

Even some early Christians saw the OT God as a loon....The Gnostics in particular saw him as an insane rogue.

Many times, when pressed, believers of any faith will fall back on "they're just apocryphal stories meant to illustrate a point."

Well, if that's story's a fake, who's to say that that other ones aren't? And who decided it was a fake? Why is the Gospel of Mark OK but the Gospel of Thomas isn't?
