So Congressman Weiner tweeted an inappropriate photo (no nudity but sexually suggestive) to a college coed over the weekend. He has since tried to claim that his account was hacked, but as far as anyone knows he hasn't contacted the police or the FBI, and he's now lawyering up.

What are the odds he'll resign? What are the odds that he gets a divorce?

Given that there is no proof that he wasn't hacked, and that there have been countless hacking attacks by scumbag outfits like the Chamber of Commerce, zero.

Of course there isn't. Nor can there be absent a police investigation into the matter. Strange, then, that Weiner doesn't seem interested in having police launch any such investigation into the culprits. Don't you want to know who the guilty party is and have them punished by the full force of the law?

But the circumstantial evidence is pretty bad for Weiner. Which suggests an obvious possible reason for a lack of criminal investigation.

Evidence? Oh, right... that's a one-way street for you.

I'm finding it hard to swallow Weiner's story.
His enemies have hired hackers. They saw what happened to some doofus Republicon who sent an inappropriate picture. Sounds like the kind of trick that should work.

Trouble is, nobody can prove that that is actually Wiener's junk in the whitie-tighties.

(If it is, I can see how male Republicons would hate him.)

A whole lot less than if he were a Rep.

Should be fairly easy to check up on. Has this co-ed received private treats tweets from him before?

When it comes to Congressmen and their libidos, it us usually safe to bet on the little brain overruling the big brain.

But of course, I'll wait on evidence.

Nobody will ever be able to top Gerry Studds for accidentally appropriate names.

This is what she had to say, from CNN:

The photo and others posted on Weiner's account have been taken down, and Cordova also has removed her Facebook and Twitter accounts. In her letter to the Daily News, she said she recognized the Twitter account of the tweet that sent her the photo.
"Friday evening I logged onto Twitter to find that I had about a dozen new mentions in less than an hour, which is a rare occurrence," Cordova's letter said. "When I checked one of the posts that I had been tagged in, I saw that it was a picture that had supposedly been tweeted to me by Congressman Anthony Weiner. The account that these tweets were sent from was familiar to me; this person had harassed me many times after the congressman followed me on Twitter a month or so ago. Since I had dealt with this person and his cohorts before I assumed that the tweet and the picture were their latest attempts at defaming the congressman and harassing his supporters."

This is the analysis I'm seeing trotted out more and more as an indication of forgery/foul play in this case, but I know nothing about ELA and as such can't really comment on its veracity. I'm just including it in this thread for the sake of completeness. I'd say that before anything is done one way or the other, some sort of proof of the accusation (or the veracity of the screenshot) is in order, as I'd rather not see someone lose their job over a screenshot, especially when a face is not visible.

So, lady skeptics... is that photo titillating?

And does it matter whose package it is? Like, if you thought it was some famous actor you dug, would that make it more "interesting?"

Honestly, just curious.

I'm really most interested in whether it is real.

So, I'd like to know if any of our resident Skepchicks have any experience with receiving Weiner photos.

So if he really did as is claimed, is Breitbart actually going to get charged with harassment this time? What was the guy who hacked Palin's email charged with?
