I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic, but all I saw in the article was: "The president directed U.S. intelligence and law enforcement agencies and the Department of Homeland Security to take steps to ensure the safety and security of the American people, and to determine whether these threats are a part of any additional terrorist plotting." Which is silly enough to be intended as humor.

I have seen no evidence that Obama had anything to do with uncovering this plot. The credit goes to the FBI and other agency folks who did the investigatory work.

I think its pathetic when folks give credit to Obama, or Bush, or Clinton, for stopping terror attacks. They ain't done ****.

The current thought is that they were intended to explode on the plane. There's a CNN video on this page, but I couldn't get the link to post here.

What's the crew on a cargo plane? Two or three people? It seems this plot was a straw grab*.

ETA:* I don't know the scale of plot. It could be there were many such devices sent.
