April Stundie Nomination thread

Did you overlook the phrase "if OBL had set up home in a hollowed out volcano"?

The picture I posted was a little bit more than just a cave...have a closer look!

My stundie nominee, Rummy Rumsfeld, responded to the "very sophisticated operation" depicted in the graphic with: "Oh, you bet. This is serious business. And there's not one of those. There are many of those."

Please give him your vote.

You do understand the Stundie nominations are for April of this year, not November of around a decade ago?

Well, he has since said he was joking. Mayyybeee, but even if so it was a stupid and clumsy joke. however, even if he was serious..

1) he's STILL better than McKinney!
2) he's no dumber than the "Obama's a secret Muslim/Birthers"

sad either way.

I brought this faux pas to We Are Change ATL's attention on their YouTube page and my comment was deleted within an hour and I was blocked from making additional comments. I later emailed them directly. No response from them as of yet but they evidently still believe they're in the right as the "Pink Elephant Collective" video is still online:

I certainly hope no one here gets it into their head to contact The Onion or The Daily Show about this. That would be mean.

Jesus, that's gotta be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. The nutters in that video are going to feel pretty dumb when the little light turns on upstairs for them. Someone should mirror that vid to make sure they never get to forget it.

Ironically "Pink Elephant Collective" is probably the most accurate name for the Truth Movement.

A Pink Elephant Collective representative emailed me last night in response to my query referenced above. They essentially said that they wouldn't change the color of the elephant even if they could, that pink is an attention getting color, any publicity is good publicity and finally the "Pink Elephant as drunken hallucination" metaphor can be interpreted as the 9/11 Commission Report (or what they called the "omission report") pretending to ignore Building 7.

I don't know if I'll be replying or if there's even any point. If I do I'll let you know what they say, if anyone is interested.

:eye-poppi Ummmm..... Truther math?

Or consider, lets say, sports scores and statistics. There are countless ways for 911 to occur here. One coincidence that I personally noted involved the death of Johnny Unitas, the former Baltimore Colts star, on Sept. 11th. Arguably the best quarterback in history, he might be ranked No. 1 among NFL quarterbacks. Combine this ranking with his jersey number 19 and you have yet another instance of 911, albeit in a different order, on Sept. 11.

Oh yes. Nazi Scum is using a web article which says 900,000 Jews were immediatly killed at Auschwitz as proof that only 100,000 were killed. I.. I just can't comprehend the confusion of ideas that would lead to such a statement.

Essentially it is stating that except for over 900,000 who were killed on arrival, "only" 100,000 or so were killed. I guess ignoring 90% of information is a requirement to be a holocaust denier.

I liked this part at the end of that post:

Keep this in mind when you read the following excerpt from the great science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke. In his 1973 novel, Rendezvous with Rama, Clarke wrote: "At 0940 GMT on the morning of September 11 in the exceptionally beautiful summer of the year 2077, most of the inhabitants of Europe saw a dazzling fireball.... Somewhere above Austria it began to disintegrate.... The cities of Padua and Verona were wiped from the face of the earth, and the last glories of Venice sank forever..."

Who would have thought that Arthur C. Clarke was the brains behind Osama bin Laden?

Hmm
time of day-off by 6-7 hours (out of a possible 24 let's call it 25%)
date - dead on (100%)
year - 76 years off the mark, a clear miss (1% for being in the same century)
location- off the mark by several thousand miles and on the wrong continent (if the circumference of the world is 25,000 miles and the distance between NYC and Verona is 4100 miles let's call that 25% )

So,
(0.25+1.0+0.01+.25)/4 =0.3775

OBL followed Clarke's book 37%
(disregarding that fact that this was an asteroid which wiped out several cities rather than several planes that wiped out several buildings a minor matter of scale I suppose)

ETA: I also have a bit of a hard time imagining OBL reading science fiction, especially one referring to Rama in its title.
ETA: According to wiki this book was published in 1972 not 73. It won its first award in 1973 which by truther standards probably means it did not exist until then.

I nominate this quote:
What "makes sense" truly doesn't matter.

This is from the member named "7" on page four of the Daily Show forum thread. A stundie if I ever heard one, colored/enlarged font and all.

Linky (message #40)

I also like this one from the same idiot:

"fire does not affect structural integrity in modern skyscrapers."

What's even better is one of the responses. I'm pretty sure everyone here will recognize this guy.

Quick question to the 'experts' doesn't building demolition create a vaccum? Doesn't that make it like the moon?

No, except in the minds of those who evaluate the situation.

Neither camp is right.

1. The planes couldn't have downed the three buildings.
2....Controled demolition couldn't have done it.

The Colbert Nation did it -- it was an act of God -- see: www.etcorngods.com/911.htm Since it was impossible to happened, and it happened -- God did it. That's what God does best, the impossible.

The date "911 2001 AD" (in ET Corn Gods language) converts to the word "Religion".
