OK, may not be the right folder, but I just HAD to start a thread on this, from today's news: The Psychedelic Bouncing Fish.

The pattern looks a lot like that of a lionfish, and the angle of the photo puts it in an odd perspective.

Looks a little like a bumping fish rather than a bouncing fish.


It's totally cool. Those feet-fins are great, almost look like they have fingers.

Poor thing doesn’t have much going for it in terms of "position control", I gather? In the video it seemed like a little lost balloon being driven by the currents. Then again, maybe that makes it less appealing to predators. Could it be it's the first underwater animal mimicking a thrown-away plastic bag?
