Sounds quite possible. After all, FBI investigations were blocked, there were numerous reports that discussed the plans of terrorists to use aircraft as weapons, and that the WTC and Pentagon were targets (No, I don't have the exact source and URL)? Not to mention NORAD did such a crappy job of intercepting these planes, it almost seems like orders to stand-down were given.

Assuming what I said is correctly off memory, what are your opinions?
 
No, it doesn't sound quite possible in any way.

It depends on what you mean by "let". If you mean, "did the government overlook key information, did it mismanage the information it had?", then the answer is quite possibly.

If you mean "was our government fully aware of what was going to transpire and stood back to let it happen?" then the answer is an unequivocable "no".

Of course our government let 9/11 happen! If they had stopped it, it wouldn't have happened!

Now, did they let it happen on purpose? Hell, no, and I'm a partisan Democrat of the partisan Democrats. I don't think the Bush crew could work out how to meet for drinks after work, but letting something like that happen on purpose wasn't just up to them. Nobody, NOBODY, takes an economic and emotional hit like 9/11 on purpose.

But what if the president wants to start a war that is unpopular, costs billions, and gives the US no real gains?
 
Rogue elements (moles) within the government did it. Some made it happen, others let it happen. There is no difference between LIHOP and MIHOP, since "Al Qaeda" is a creation and asset of the US/UK intelligence apparatus. That's the answer.

But alas, I can't prove it. Yet. So "it can't be true." (That's what they'll tell you).

Bush didn't need 9/11 to start a war with Iraq. And laaaaaast time, there was also the matter of Iraq invading Kuwait.

Maybe it wasn't "the Bush crew." Stop conceptualizing it so narrowly.

We had a coup in America. We oughtta find out who did it, don'tcha think?

Why did April Glaspie tell Hussein the US would stay out of it? And then invade when he did it?

Kuwait holds chatel slaves, btw.

Kuwaitis made stuff up to get the world to support them.

You implied the US Government made up the stories to justify a war.

The stories didn't appear until after Iraq invaded Kuwait.

It was the invasion that was the justification for war (Under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter).

I'm asking you again to try to stop acting like a baby. Whining will never, ever covert anyone. Will you make that effort?

Since you provide zero evidence to back your hypothesis, we'll stick with the mountain of evidence that shows what happened.

Is anything either wrong or unclear about that?
