Have you tried the new Microsoft Browser? It seems to handle FTP differently. I upgraded my browser and now I wish I hadn't because it does things differently.

Agreed. I upgraded all of my servers I host to the latest IE7 only to be inundated with calls the next day with numerous complaints.IE 7 is horrible. It's very buggy.
I guess it is not possible to roll back to the earlier version.
I am not super familiar with IE7, but I did upgrade last week and was given the option of using ClearType or not. ClearType is Microsofts antialiasing technology. Antialiasing is great for large text and logos, but not so great for small text depending on the screen and the resolution. Very simply, it is based on a bluring of text in order to keep you from noticing the distinct pixels. On some displays, small text anti-aliased can look great, on others, blurry.IE 7 is horrible. It's very buggy. The text on my screen is now a bit blurry (you have to install a plug-in and do some other things in order to fix it). And then when I scroll using the click wheel, the browser keeps scrolling even when I stop! Even the tab design is bad. It's not as intuitive as Firefox.
They shouldn't have changed the layout of IE 7. They should have kept the old layout of IE 6.
It sucks totally! I'm so mad.
That's why I'm sticking with Firefox!
I found IE7 in the Control Panel list of Software to uninstall and I uninstalled it. But it does not do a complete uninstall. I still cannot use FTP.It is. When IE7 first came out I thought of this too. There is a script on the Microsft Technet site I think, than gives you the ability to switch between the two versions.
I cannot find the url at the moment, but if you search Technet you should find it ok.

I use Filezilla for FTP. Does a great job.
