Ah, the TAM Forum Party. It keeps getting better every year! The fishnets, the chocolate, the dancing, the deep scientific and philosophical conversations . . . hold on, I need to take a breath.
Whew.
Okay! So this year, TAM is in a new hotel: the Riviera. Unlike the Stardust (may she rest in peace), the Riv provides no hospitality suite for our crazy goings-on. Thank goodness we're a plucky group of skeptics, though - this year, Skepchicks Ltd. will be sponsoring the forum party by renting out a great big suite. There will be snacks, sodas, and music provided in the 2-bed/2-bath/1-living room (edited to add: with balcony!) pad. As in previous years, the annual Chocolate Challenge will take place at some point during the evening, and I saw someone mention Port. So long as it is consumed responsibly with no kiddies present, thumbs up! There may even be some skepchicks...flashing? You'll just have to show up to find out.
Skepchicks Ltd. will cover the cost of everything needed. Admission is free, though we are asking that party-goers chip in with a donation at the door if you can spare it. (A few of you have already expressed interest in helping out with certain costs - we can nail that down in the following few weeks.) Obviously everything will have receipts, and any money that exceeds the total value of the party will be split evenly between Skepchicks andJREF the TAM6 (2008) JREF scholarship fund run by Paul A.
Because of the way the Riv works, we won't know the exact location of the party until TAM. At that point, we'll post the info here on the forum as well as make sure word gets around at the conference through announcements.
The party starts at 8pm and continues until I kick all your sorry carcasses out.
Post here with any suggestions on how to increase the overall awesomeness of the party, including what you'd like for music, food, and drinks.
Yee haw!
