So what form does the resistance take?

I've got bad news for you: No one cares about this weird obsession anymore. We had elections last year that proved it. You're bringing it up in a thread about a historically massive resistance against a fascist regime that murders people in the streets, and generally sucks in every area of governance. People hate the Trump administration and they have a lot of reasons to do so. For most people, whether or not some trans kid plays JV lacrosse has dropped far down their list of concerns.
Especially when it was only ever the metaphorical car keys jingled in front of a toddler to distract them from the shot they're about to receive. Notice how FOX News turns up the coverage of scary trans kids in schools whenever the actual news become too uncomfortable? I don't think they care less about trans anything, they just realize it's a small, marginalized group people don't really know too much about or understand. Perfect victims of demonization and fear-mongering.

If the Republican in the next presidential election can run an ad that says "The Democrat is for they/them, The Republican is for you," I would be much appreciative.

Yes, they should run this slogan superimposed over footage of masked government thugs murdering citizens and children dying of measles. Maybe throw in a few charts to show how badly the economy is failing. I think it would be very effective.

Thanks. Keep on supporting grown men watching little girls use the restroom. That'll always be a winning message.

Oh, good grief. You're aware that these allegations were not corroborated? The document literally had this to say about the accuser:

"YoU WAnt GrOwn Men tO wAtCH LittLE gIRLs Go PeE" and "Hey let's just take a beat before we rush to conclusions about what Trump was up to with his pedophile best friend" in back-to-back posts is peak MAGA brain rot. No notes.

Every accusation is a confession.

Eta: 'yOu wAnT tO wAtCh lItTlE gIrLs pEe' and 'here's a whataboutisms where I make AI images of grownups in bikinis out to be the same as sexualized images of children' is one hell of a combo, too. Especially when you worship a pedo like a god.

'Cause finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin' 'bout a revolution
'Cause finally the tables are starting to turn
Talkin' 'bout a revolution, oh no
Talkin' 'bout a revolution, oh

According to actor Giancarlo Esposito, in an interview with Variety, the resistance might have to take the form of a lot of dead martyrs - not him, though:

50 million of you may have to die for the revolution, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
Why don't you post an actual quotation from the article instead of this strawman? It's not what Esposito is saying!

And, by the way, he is far from alone in this:
More Americans are Saying the Quiet Part Loud: They Want a Revolution (The Humanist Report on YouTube, Jan 14, 2026 - 31:04 min.)
Things have gotten so bad in America that they no longer view voting and protesting as a viable way to achieve change in the system. As a result, more and more of them are calling for a revolution—and not all of them think peace is an option. In this video, we’ll discuss how declining material conditions, the collapse of the state, and rise of fascist authoritarianism has led to a conversation about the need to rise up and overthrow the system.
Chapters:
0:00 Revolution Brewing
4:48 Failure of Democrats
10:11 Breaking Point
12:23 Peaceful Resistance
15:48 Armed Resistance
25:27 Domestic Insurgency
29:59 Conclusion

0:13--> "I think I'm willing to die for this. We can't wait till November. There's no waiting until the ballot box. We need to get to the bullet box. I'll be brutally honest. I see an insurgency brewing."

I expect quite a few more Republicans to break ranks after the special election for a Texas Senate seat resulted in the GOP losing bigly in a district that Trump carried by 17 points. No revolution required; in fact open rebellion would probably be the one thing that could save the Republicans from an electoral bloodbath in November.

I guess it depends on how we're defining "open rebellion". What's happening in Minnesota could be called "open rebellion" and it's very popular.

If we're defining "opening rebellion" as armed resistance, I agree with you. But much to the chagrin of blood-thirsty Republicans, the reason that hasn't been happening isn't a coincidence.

I was referring to dann's post, where he approvingly cited quotes people suggesting the violent overthrow of the US government. That kind of open rebellion.

Noted, but that clearly does not represent the mainstream on this issue as established by what we're seeing happening in Minnesota and other places.

It's Republicans who want violence and bloodshed, not Democrats.

What we have learned from the legal side of the ICE raids is that an extremely effective form of resistance is to Quit if you are in any way involved with this government.

Everyone always tells themselves that they can mitigate the cruelty and abuse if they are in charge, and whoever replaces them will be worse.
And they are always wrong.

When the DOJ literally doesn't have the lawyers to bring cases, when everything these monsters do takes twice as long and is deeply flawed because loyalty doesn't mean competency, then it's easier to identify and fight the lawlessness.

I certainly hope that more people in the US agree that a) Trump is a massive liability for them and b) that the elections will prove this.

Oh, and c) that there is no attempted coup by Trump to prevent duly elected Congresspeople from taking their seats and overturning the GOP majority, but I can definitely believe he will do all kinds of legalistic (and non-legal) maneuvering to thwart he result, possibly with the use of ICE and compliant administrators. By now, nobody can truly think that is off the table.

Is that also valid for the military? If generals who don't want execute illegal orders all quit, will that make it less likely that illegal orders are executed when MAGA generals replace them?

Absolutely.
Military is all about logistics, which is about experience and cooperation.
I guess someone not worried about their pensions could probably cause massive problems in logistics by being deliberately incompetent, but the same result is achieved by quitting and having someone with no clue put in charge.

Invaluable CIA guide on fighting Fascism ( I think it was posted before).

Insist on doing everything through ‘channels.’ Never permit short-cuts to be taken in order to expedite decisions.”
“Make ‘speeches.’ Talk as frequently as possible and at great length. Illustrate your ‘points’ by long anecdotes and accounts of personal experiences. Never hesitate to make a few appropriate ‘patriotic’ comments.”
“Bring up irrelevant issues as frequently as possible.”
“Haggle over precise wordings of communications, minutes, resolutions.”
“‘Misunderstand’ orders. Ask endless questions or engage in long correspondence about such orders. Quibble over them when you can.”
“In making work assignments, always sign out the unimportant jobs first. See that the important jobs are assigned to inefficient workers of poor machines.”
“To lower morale and with it, production, be pleasant to inefficient workers; give them undeserved promotions. Discriminate against efficient workers; complain unjustly about their work.”
“Hold conferences when there is more critical work to be done.”
“Multiply paperwork in plausible ways.”
“Make mistakes in quantities of material when you are copying orders. Confuse similar names. Use wrong addresses.”
“Work slowly. Think out ways to increase the number of movements necessary on your job”
“Pretend that instructions are hard to understand, and ask to have them repeated more than once. Or pretend that you are particularly anxious to do your work, and pester the foreman with unnecessary questions.”
“Snarl up administration in every possible way. Fill out forms illegibly so that they will have to be done over; make mistakes or omit requested information in forms.”

The guide also suggests “general devices for lowering morale and creating confusion,” which include “Report imaginary spies or danger to the Gestapo or police,” “act stupid,” “Be as irritable and quarrelsome as possible without getting yourself into trouble,” “Stop all conversation when axis nationals or quislings enter a cafe,” “Cry and sob hysterically at every occasion, especially when confronted by government clerks.”
