Understanding the Liberal Mindset

Jeez, here we go again with another person disappearing instead of answering a question.

Seems to be endemic to the sleepy-mindset crowd.

Was it a Nazi salute with Galaxy Brain? Maybe, maybe not.
With Musk it was a Nazi salute. Fist to chest, then extend straight arm with fingers pointed. That's a Nazi salute. Did he realise at the time he did it that what he was doing was a Nazi salute? Did he say to himself "I'm going to throw them a Nazi salute right now"? I don't purport to read minds, but I think it's possible that he didn't. He did a gesture that happened to be a Nazi salute, and when he was called on it he doubled down because he's a narcissist who can't abide criticism.

Yeah, I tend to agree with you.

Whenever I've seen it done in the movies, it seems they're also clicking their heels together at the same time, and it doesn't look like the Sgt. Muskrat is doing that, but I could be wrong about the movie part.

The heel click is usually accompanied by a slight bow, and as far as I know it dates back to the Weimar Republic or maybe earlier.

hmmm... I don't know about the "slight bow" part, but my memory isn't like it used to be, and most of my nazi knowledge comes from watching movies and Hogan's Heroes anyway, which probably aren't the most accurate depictions.

ETA: I just thought of something funny. Sometimes Col Klink (from Hogan's Heroes) would do these lame salutes by barely raising his hand a little while saying in a tired voice, "Heil Hitler" like he had the mindset of someone who didn't really give a crap about Hitler.

I guess you had to be there.

I think he knew - he wants to be funny and edgy so very badly (which he isn't), and he thought heiling would be both. It was too clear a gesture to be a coincidence, it seems to me - that very forceful stretching of a straight arm seemed too unambiguous.

So anyway, do you think Mamdani was doing a nazi salute?

It looks to me like he's in the middle of waving goodbye to someone (or hello) rather than an actual nazi salute.

No, not at all. I think he was making fun of Elon, but that was not a nazi salute.

Yeah, you're probably right, plus Mamdani forgot to pound his fist against his chest first before the salute like Sgt Muskrat did.

This discussion about the nazi salute is interesting and also funny, but in order to get this back to the liberal/progressive mindset topic, I'd like to add that some of us (of that mindset) do enjoy making fun of the sleepy, fat-clown mindset and his maga weirdo sycophants.

I mean, the guy's a living parody of himself so how can we not return the favor?
