Someone needs to get Trump to change the "official' font to Wingdings. That will allow everyone equal access to the content....i.e. no access at all.

NATO is the most effective means by which the US defends itself you dolt. It provides the US military with free access to military infrastructure all around the world that house early warning systems and which allow for both forward defence and offensive power projection. Plus it effectively ties the next five or six most powerful militaries into vassalage with the US.

That is, of course, a good part of the reason given. But Rubio has outdone himself here by declaring it "wasteful." Think about this. Is the font wasteful (in which case you'd think a sans serif font less wasteful of precious ink and toner and pixels than a serif one)? Or was the order previosuly given to use the Calibri wasteful (in which case issuing yet another order to change font use would be at least equally wasteful)? Think about this, and what is being said, not just about the fonts but the integrity and intelligence of the person issuing the order.

No really, THINK ABOUT THIS! There are some people on this board, and many outside it, who keep making excuses for things. I would urge anyone, privately if need be, actually to think about this. What qualities of honesty and intelligence do we seek in our leadership? How stupid is too stupid, how dishonest is too dishonest, even for people who share our beliefs?

Man, but those serifs are powerful little buggers!

Disclaimer: whenever I have had control over such things I have changed to a sans serif font (word processing programme is currently on franklin gothic medium), as I find serif to be annoying little ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊.
 
As someone who worked in the typographic field for 40 years, I can say that sans serif fonts probably use slightly less ink or toner than serif fonts. And many serif fonts have a slightly more official look whereas sans-serif fonts are more casual. However, none of that thinking went into this decision. As always, they're just being dicks.
