Trump's Second Term

Hegseth's Department dropped another jet fighter off an aircraft carrier.
It's starting to look like carelessness
I tell you, nobody knows more about air craft carriers than Trump. It's the magnets again!

One opinion I saw was that the carriers are now operating in hostile waters. Previously, they could mostly stand off at a safe distance. Improved and cheaper missile technology means that a big, fat carrier is easier to attack.

that is pretty much the worst explanation, ever.
As if a carrier could dodge a missile.
Guess we are learning that US Naval Power is seriously overrated.

Why do you think it's over rated?

The whole point of a carrier is it can stand off at a safe distance and launch attacks.

That is not so easy in the Gulf where waters are restricted, there's always a risk to a ship in that situation.

in other words, the utility of a carrier group in THE region where the US currently think it is needed most is severely limited.

By some reports, the US Navy had to use more than a billion in countermeasure ammunition to protect the carriers against missiles that probably didn't cost a million in total. Plus the loss of 2 $100 million planes.
If the Gazan Conflict has shown anything, it is that Defense such a Aegis or Iron Dome or Patriot can be depleted with comparatively cheap missiles - and it takes a while and cost a fortune to restock them.

This is not a game the US or Israel can win. But it can bankrupt them.

Oh, ffs. Speculation has it that The POSOTUS wants the name of the Persian Gulf changed to the Arabian Gulf. Google Maps already has it. I thought Google was his enemy? I may be thinking of Amazon.
Is that the YUGE announcement he's planning to make just before his trip to the Middle East?

Maybe the administration is using airplanes to test their next idea for deportation. We have to get them out of the country, but there's nothing in the rules that says we have to let them off on land. They're free to swim wherever they want, and the sharks aren't our problem.

Funny, you'd think everything would run smoothly now that Dump won and they kicked out all the woke DEI hires.

They will continue to blame DEI and Biden for the foreseeable future. That’s exactly what reality TV star and Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy keeps doing in all those Fox News hits instead of his job.

DEI is like the new deep state. The Trump administration is going to crush it but is also powerless to prevent it from infiltrating the government that they run.

It is a very real issue, using a $3 million dollar interceptor to take out a $50k drone is a problem even for big economies. Then there is the problem that you can only make so many interceptors a year, and we fired off a years production not too long ago so it is not hard to run a much larger opponents magazines dry with those kind of exchange values.
