Can you beat Trump? Pick the WORST people for his cabinet positions you can think of!

SO the Health Deparmtnet will be purged of real sceintest and kooks put in their place.
Tiem to buy a gun folks.
Might want to keep your personal armament situation to yourself, just in case maga cultists decide that personal gun ownership is okay for them, but not for thee.

And a lot of big GOP donors in the Health Drug Industry are horrified.
It is like Trump is trying to punish the country for not reelecting him n 2024.
It is reaching the point where even some GOP congress critters have got to horrfied by his choices.
People keep saying that, they keep going along with him.

So far, nobody has beaten Trump at this game yet. He has picked the least qualified, worst possible candidates for his cabinet so far. Probably because all of them are his tapeworms. So there's plenty of time yet to get your entries in!

Who has money on "the late great Hannibal Lector" scoring a chair?

Third world America here we come. Just a little scary that you share a border with us. But I am old and will be dead soon anyway so I can just sit back and be amused.

But now he is endangering things most GOPers really care about, like defense and the Intelligence service.
What you might see is some behind the scenes attempts to sabotage a lot of his choices. The old "The King is being badly advised" routines.

Sorry, but after the election is done and dusted, it's a little bit late to start worrying about what Disaster Don is doing. Everyone and their dogs knew what he was going to do before the election. Which rather strongly suggests that might have been a far better time to put a stop to him.

Yep, we told you so! :D

Meanwhile...

I'm sure the self-hating Jew and proto-Heidrich, Stephen Miller, can be fitted into the Trump cabal. Somewhere where he can be whispering in Donny's ear all the racist filth he was whispering years ago.

Whoopsie! He's Deputy Chief of Staff! That's just under that suck-up numpty election manager woman Donny gave the Chief of Staff position to as a reward for him winning. Let's all guess how long before she gets fired and Miller slithers in...

You know I am convinced some people here are \ gloating over what is happening in the USA.
Not so much what they say, but the tone of the posts.

If you are aiming this at me, I've already told you that you are gravely mistaken. You are reading the room very wrong, possibly deliberately.

We were hoping to take another holiday in the USA in the near future because we enjoyed our previous ones so much. That's now on hold for at least four years, if not longer. We hope the places we want to visit will still exist then - they are on Trump's "defund and destroy" list. We have young ex-pat Americans married into our family. They are wondering if they will ever be able to see their parents again due to differing political views that may prevent them visiting home. So "gloating" is not the word I would choose. "Heartbroken and dejected" comes much closer.

Meanwhile, on with this thread, please. Because the subject is trying to guess how bad Trump can be. So far, nobody has out-Trumped him.

They say they care, but do they really? They didn't know it was loaded?

They thought they could somehow control him.
They thought they could last time. How did that work out?
.And, yes, defense is one thing they do really care about.
Rightly so. But it's a bit difficult when the people in charge are so stupid they think the military works like Rambo or in cartoons.

I was going to ask what you think about RFK Jr anywhere near health, but it hadn't been confirmed when I posted earlier.

On the subject of Trump's picks, over on Scrutable, "Grumble" said

"It’s a Klown Kar Kabinet"

Which works on two levels

At least one US senator, Republican Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma, is already waffling on Matt Gaetz as US Attorney General, saying he "completely trusts" trump's judgement..

Last year, Oklahoma senator Markwayne Mullin called out Matt Gaetz for allegedly bragging about taking erectile dysfunction meds and drinking energy drinks so he could “go all night” with underage girls, but following Donald Trump’s Wednesday announcement that he is tapping Gaetz to be his new attorney general, Mullin has walked back his critiques. Mullin told CNN host Jake Tapper that he still has “a lot of questions” about Gaetz, but that he “completely trusts Trump’s decision-making on this one.” The Wrap article link

RFK Jr. as head of US Health and Human Services is picking up GOP support as well. US Senator Bill Cassidy, Republican from Louisiana, is "looking forward" to learning more about Kennedy's support for a "conservative, pro-American agenda."

“RFK Jr. has championed issues like healthy foods and the need for greater transparency in our public health infrastructure,” said Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), a physician and the incoming chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. “I look forward to learning more about his other policy positions and how they will support a conservative, pro-American agenda.” Politico article link

The son of the late Robert F. Kennedy supporting a "conservative, pro-American agenda?" We're though the looking glass on this one.

You should by now. The topic here is choices worse than the ones Mr. Trump has made. Of course one presumes that the choices here are jocular, but serious enough that the assumption is that Mr Trump's choices are superior. Though I notice even he has not come up yet with alternate choices for Health and Human Services or Attorney General. Perhaps even he might have difficulty outdoing his fearless leader, though he thinks there are worse candidates for Secretary of State than Marco Rubio, a matter of judgment open to interpretation.
but how were ahny of those options "funny"? Some of them were completely out of left field. And Harris was already VP and filled the role well enough. And a vocal supproter of unions and labor protections would likely make a good Secretary of Labor.

I get he wans't being serious. Right-wingers really shouldn't be taken seriously.

I just don't see the joke.

It's false equivalency pretending that Trump is within the boundaries of normality and his picks are not (to use Grumble's phrase on Scrutable) a Klown Kar Kabinet, but just politics as usual and it's perfectly reasonable for an honest conservative to think Trump's picks are better than reasonable liberal ones. Which is why I chose RFK Jr for health, because that is very difficult to defend and claim if one also holds that vaccination is vital for public health.

Vaccination is so 20th century. I'm sure that in a few weeks, all Republicans will publicly proclaim that vaccinations are dangerous and that there's no evidence of them working regardless of their current position. Republicans who are willing to state, unequivocally, in public that the 2020 Presidential election wasn't stolen from Trump are now very thin on the ground.

People are regarding it with the same horrified fascination they would any imminent disaster from which they are once removed.

Hard to top Kenney
They thought they could last time. How did that work out?

Rightly so. But it's a bit difficult when the people in charge are so stupid they think the military works like Rambo or in cartoons.
I served five years in the US Army, and I assure you the Army does no think that way. I fact, in infantry traiing ib basic, they had a huge photo of Rambo with a circle with a diagonal line across it imposed, and were constanly told if we tried to behave like Rambo incombat, we would get killed.
Where you get crap like that statement?

If I lived in Canada I'd be thinking the same thing.

In fact, if it wasn't for those winters...

You think the fallout is not going to blow over into Canada
And your hatred and contempt for AMerica is clear.
The fallout is going to blow over the whole world, and it is the consequence of the choice the USA has just made. Hence some dissatisfaction * , some consternation, and a small measure of contempt too.

* hatred is much, much too strong a word for what most people think of America. The prevailing mode here in France is "mais c'est pas vrai! Ces andouilles ont remis ça pour 4 ans !?!?!?"
