Why I should vote for Trump?

Speaking for some especially ignorant and deluded Christians I know:

Donald Trump is God's instrument of destruction. He'll raze the deep, secular state, so that from its ruins a new nation under God will arise.
And [The following is held at the same time regardless of contradiction.] he'll make the way for the Antichrist.

Vote for Trump because he's sure to bring on Armageddon, which must proceed the return of Jesus Christ.

Trump's gonna burn it all down!

They think he's going to make way for the Antichrist? Might want to double check the cast of characters list...

Also, where do they see themselves in that story? Last I checked, the guy who is supposed to set all that up and lead humanity towards the antichrist is a popular leader who dupes his followers. Are they admitting they are willing pawns being led astray from God?

Of course they don't see themselves that way.
They're in on the greatest conspiracy of all time.

"Let us hasten the return of our Lord."

It's less a contradiction than it seems. You gotta have Sauron make the ring if you want to beat him for good. It's also why the far right supports aid to Israel while being rabidly anti-Semitic. The Book says the final battles are going to be fought in (and conquer) Israel, so Israel has to stick around until then.

The Trumpers I'm familiar with are simpler DARVO folk, decent enough people on their own, just immersed in Fox News and worse echo chambers who tell them only that Biden is a horrible corrupt person for reasons and that Trump will fix things in some unspecified way.

Do it for Fox And Friends!

The best case for Trump is probably what he DIDN'T do.

He didn't get us, or anyone else, into war. He didn't give billions of dollars to Iran. He didn't drive up inflation. And he didn't open our borders to uncontrolled illegal immigration.

His biggest failure was COVID. He should have fired Fauci on day 1, but that's hindsight. The lockdowns were a mistake, and one we will be paying for for decades. But the Democrats weren't any better, so....

Protect Americans? Obey the law? The basic requirements of his job?

He didn't do things Biden hasn't done? But, your Orange Weakling absolutely drove up inflation, even if the full effects weren't felt until after he lost again.

His biggest failure was COVID.

And a massive failure it was, not only dismantling the systems that would have prevented a massive outbreak, but doing a piss poor job of addressing it when it got here.

Ya, but that's kind of a big deal He should have fired Fauci on day 1, but that's hindsight idiocy.

FTFY

The lockdowns were a mistake necessary step after Republican failure,

again FTFY

and one we will be paying for for decades.

millions dead. and still dying. Millions permanently injured from the effects of COVID. Billions in long term economic damage. All because they didn't address it fast enough and actually enforce proper lockdowns.

But the Democrats weren't any better, so....

No, because they also worship the great god the Market (peace be upon its money)

Seriously, a few million more deaths would have been worth it to make our lords' investment portfolios go up. Right? Because we exist for one thing and one thing only. Generate revenue. Be that through our labor or our consumption. Make the number go up, no matter how many people are destroyed to do it. #nolivesmatter.

Aw man, I started a thread like this way back when Donnie Dorko was still prez. I intended it to be a place where Thumpers could post facts & figures in support of their boy.
It went the same way this thread has gone, and soon died out. (My threads do that.) The reason is simple enough: Trumpoids have no substantive arguments to present. They love him simply because he makes them feel good about their worst impulses. They're happy to delude themselves in the service of that religion.

What he didn't do is an important factor for me, but ultimately it was outweighed by all the stuff he couldn't do, or wouldn't do, or did it but bungled it. I see no point in trying to elect an establishment outsider if they're going to suck at it. At least Jill Biden has the right idea about Ukraine and Israel.

I predict that no Trump voters will respond to this thread.
I doubt there are any "Trump voters", as the term is used here, on this forum at all. I also suspect that acbytesla knew this going in, but couldn't resist trying to pick a fight with them anyway.

I was going to predict that this thread would immediately devolve into yet another Two Minutes' Hate, but it's a postdiction at this point.

Republicans who don't vote for Trump are like resistance fighters in 1940s Germany. So many come out after the smoke clears, no one can figure out how the problem ever started.

Israel is why.
Yeah, except that Trump would bungle it, and bungle Ukraine too.

Biden's proved either to be a sociopath, either that or else someone completely lacking the smallest vestiges of a spine.

This more than balances out Ukraine, because commission > omission in my book. You're a far bigger of an ******* if you bludgeon a baby to death, or if you enable and cheer on someone else, some vile lowlife doing that, and keep passing on a supply of bats to them to better keep doing that; than if you merely stood by idly, for whatever reason, while some unrelated other did this to some baby.
Since Biden is generally aligned with my own positions on Ukraine and Israel, it's actually super easy (barely an inconvenience) for me to resolve this particular election-year conundrum.

But he's still better, much much better, immeasurably better, than the alternative.

(Sorry, couldn't resist that impulse either, even despite the derail. ...Out of here now, as far as posting in this thread.)
I have to ask. What is it about all the other "Trump hate" threads, all the years you've been at this, that still leaves you unsatisfied? Do you not at some point get tired of browbeating the same choir with the same sermon, again and again and again? Even when you know it's not the topic and you know you're not supposed to? Even though for the price of saying you know you're not supposed to, you could simply have not done it?

I think there's a lot of Republicans who voted for him with hope in 2016, who are now disillusioned with him and won't vote for him again.

Abcytesla, I get that you're trying to get the arguments they think are their rational reasons to support Trump, but you're not going to get that for a couple of major reasons.

They don't feel comfortable telling you or anyone here.

They're unaware of their actual motivations.

Apart from the reasons some anti-Trump people have given you, one of the strongest is that they're afraid they'll be ejected from, or at least lose standing in, their community. It's the normal human tribal drive. That can override a lot of other things, even other feelings of threats. The threat of being socially outcast is powerful.

They need a permission structure to not support Trump and still be accepted by Trump supporters or the fear they'll lose more community by supporting Trump. It's a tricky situation that I don't think anyone can be sure to know how to navigate.

See, they can't actually defend Trump. They just make juvenile cracks about Biden. The few times they actually offered specific reasons, those reasons turned out to be nonsense.

I'm not American so I can't vote in US elections, but if I was, I would vote for a potted plant if it was the nominee for the Democrat ticket before I would ever vote for Trump. Why? Because a vote for Trump is a vote for a wannabe dictator, for the introduction of Authoritarian government, and for an end to elections, and therefore an end of my right to vote.

However, setting all that aside, if we just want to talk about achievements, then how about all the stuff you will never hear about this Democrat Administration's achievements on Fox News or Newsmax, because these facts don't fit their preferred narrative...

1. The lowest unemployment rate in the recorded history of the USA!

2. CHIPS and Science Act, providing funding to produce semiconductor chips for automobiles, cellphones, laptops, gaming consoles, washing machines etc, in the US rather than continuing to rely on China.

3. More people on health insurance than ever before!

4. Added 13.2 million jobs since he came into office, replacing all of the jobs that were lost at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. This is more new jobs added than the previous six republican administrations... combined.

5. The first time ever that the US government has negotiated directly with pharmaceutical company to dramatically lower the cost of prescription medicine.

6. Historic Expansion of benefits and services for toxic exposed veterans.

7. Lowered the cost of hearing aids by making them available over the counter.

8. Lowered the deficit with the single largest annual reduction in American history.

9. Secured commitments from 20 leading internet providers to increase speeds and cut prices.

10. Awarded the most ever federal contracting dollars to small businesses and disadvantaged small businesses.

11. Created more manufacturing jobs in 2022 than in any single year in nearly 30 years.

12. Rescued the economy and changed the course of the pandemic.

13. A $1 trillion infrastructure bill to repair roads, waterways, bridges and railroads, and bring high-speed internet to rural communities.

And this is just a partial list

Meanwhile, lets have a look at Trump's "achievements"

1. Tax Cuts for billionaires.

2. The gutting of environmental protections.

3. Adding $7.8 trillion to the deficit.

4. Screwing up his response to the COVID pandemic so badly that over a MILLION Americans died, when it could have been less than 100,000.

The fact that Republican voters died from COVID at a rate 15% higher than Democrat voters before the vaccines were introduced, and at a rate 43% higher than Democrat voters after the vaccines were introduced tells you all you need to know about Republicans and their opposition to vaccines and shutdowns.

As I said, I'm not American, and do I not live in the US - nevertheless, I seem to have a better grasp of the US economy, and the good that Biden has done than any Trump sycophant. But then, not being American, I don't have partisan blinders on to help me pretend that the evidence is not staring me in the face.
