Mind Matter Interaction with quantum entropy?

I saw a comment on the App review for randonautica that says this: "You can pair your mind matter with quantum entropy if you want to entangle your consciousness with observable reality in the process. But this is an unusual app, it's almost like it taps into your mind and is able to pick up on anomalies". I'm not a great skeptic, or too knowledgeable on quantum physics so I was hoping a smarter, more skeptical mind could help with this

In almost 100% of cases, if someone outside the halls of a university or scientific conference references quantum mechanics, they are wrong. In exactly 100% if cases, of someone references quantum mechanics while they are trying to sell you something, they are wrong.

The above is absolute gibberish, by the way. Completely meaningless.

There was a short earlier thread about Randonautica: http://www.internationalskeptics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=344906

Disregard the quantum nonsense and I see a lot of potential good in the concept. Traveling to random local places (provided one is respectful of the potential hazards) is a stimulating pastime. It usually exercises observation. But connecting such observation with an intention also exercises imagination and lateral thinking.

I do agree with your statement, but what about the quantum thing? Im sorry I just don't really understand what they're saying here

That's because what they are saying is gibberish. It has no meaning. They're just throwing around sciency sounding words to get your attention with little to no regard for their actual definitions.

I agree. As soon as someone throws quantum mechanics or theory into the mix I walk away. Before I came to this message board I used to do this myself to make my arguments sound sciency. Truth is I lack the basic knowledge to discuss quantum theory in any meaningful way. This also means I lack the ability to call BS on someone else who might actually study that branch of physics.

You don't actually have to have a great deal of knowledge of that branch of physics in order to be able to see when the terms are being used inappropriately. One example as I mentioned is when the person using those terms is trying to sell you something.

What they're trying to imply is that because their random coordinates are generated by a quantum random number generator, and because there's such a thing as quantum entanglement under certain very carefully controlled conditions, it follows that the coordinates they're giving you aren't really random. Instead, they're connected with your life and circumstances in some deep and mysterious way.

This is a mental prompt to take the exercise more seriously. If you believe the coordinates you're being directed to hold some secret meaning specifically for you and your current intention, rather than just being a random place for which you have to find your own meaning, you're likely to try harder to pay attention and make some association.

Sure, but this is just pseudoscientific bulldust because there is absolutely no quantum entanglement going on here. Just a random number generator. It's exactly as personal as rolling dice.

Sounds like a deepity to me.
Don't bother with ChoprApp, or whatever this app is called. If you feel the need for sciencey-sounding New Age gibberish, this is easier and more fun:

Inside a university it's about 50%, tapering downward by experience. Unless they're engineers when it's closer to 90%.

True.

Very true.

Well, yes, of course. Sorry if I wasn't clear on this point.

What I'm getting at is, if someone says "Mercury square the ruler of your birth sign in the fourth house means you should be careful in traffic today," just because the astrology is nonsense doesn't mean it's not a good idea to be careful in traffic.
