Why People Voted For Trump – For Those Who Don't Get It

Given the posts on social media, the actual protests at numerous electoral sites, the tens of thousands of actual letters, and the fact numerous well known Hollywood types put together an actual infomercial about it, suggesting it was not a serious effort is a bit rich.

The fact that it was stupid does not mean that Hillary fans did not take it seriously.

Yea, some folks on the left got railroaded by the "liberal" media into thinking it was a real thing.

What exactly is the difference between that and the vast numbers of folks who got railroaded by Donald J Trump, Inc into thinking that he gave a **** about them?

Nothing. The answer is nothing. Despite evidence to the contrary, conservatives aren't the only gullible Americans.

Nobody ever took that seriously. I sure as hell didn't.

It would seem a great deal of people on the Left took it seriously. In fact serious enough to protest outside of many of the state houses yesterday, some in freezing cold temps. Someone in the press needs to be held accountable, people could have died over this nonsense.
Chris B.

The Democrats (this includes Obama, so yes "The Democrats") are now claiming that it was the Russians fault.

Among the bad things in the OP (there are also some good things), this is a very good example.

The Democrats aren't claiming it's the Russians fault. That's a straw man. An awful lot of people are saying that the Russians tried to manipulate the US election by hacking and releasing Democratic communication. That isn't the same thing as saying, "It's the Russians fault", and a lot of the people saying it aren't Democrats.

Name one.

Loretta Switt? (I read somewhere that she was in the infomercial. I thought she was dead. Pretty much the same thing, I guess. I never saw the informercial, and I'm not inclined to look it up.)

Oh, there was an informercial by insignificant formerly famous people. It must be a thing. And enough people stood with signs to fill up a TV screen. Now that means for sure it's a real thing.

Nope. It would be if I was saying Clinton was justified because [the other guys], or Trump wasn't justified because [the other guys]. It's not a tu quoque fallacy merely to point out inconsistency and/or hypocrisy in someone else's argument.

I'm not sure that claiming you were simply insulting the arguer is your go to argument here.

Lets go to the tape!

It's just that one has to marvel at the blatant, unadulterated, shameless hypocrisy of Trump fans preaching at us about why they had to vote for him because they couldn't trust her.

The fact that Trump fans might be hypocrites does not at all suggest Hillary is someone one can trust.
The ruling: Classic Example of a Tu Quoque Fallacy

I'm sure everyone takes responsibility for their choice. I voted Trump and I'll own that. Proud of it. I'm not ashamed of my choice or my candidate. Chris B

PROUD TRUMP SUPPORTER

Ya know, that's the part I just can't get. I completely understand that people plugged into the Vast Right-Wing BS Machine are pumped up with high octane Hillary-hate juice, but being proud of voting for Trump? Deplorable and unredeemable.

I don't recall any of the protesters outside the state buildings yesterday being Republicans........if that's anything relevant as to who believed this garbage.......... Chris B.

And you might not be a Republican either, but you are a proud Trump supporter, and you bought into it as a significant thing.

So that's one for the Trump side

Yes they are! Don't you know John McCain and Lindsay Graham and Mitch McConnell are secretly democrats!?!?

Martin Sheen is formerly famous?

Bob Odenkirk?

Plus the 4 million people who signed the change dot org petition?

Not serious!

'k.

We are tired of being called racists, misogynists and other nasty names that the left throws around without a thought. You are the boy who cried wolf – you cry so much that not only is nobody listening anymore, but we're sick and tired of hearing your voice, period.

I think this summed up the election better than anything else.

HAHAHA!!!

Oh mercy, that is FANTASTIC!

Your Logical Fallacy is Tu Quoque

"turned" quoque. Oh I love that, particularly the part where it is "another" thing TBD "doesn't" "understand."

Oh mercy, Christmas came early this year

:thumbsup::D:thumbsup:

Yeah, the fact that I didn't proofread and there didn't catch the autocorrect doesn't change the fact that you don't understand what a tu quoque fallacy is. Simply pointing out that another person engaged in the same behavior as another person it's not a tu quoque; declaring a conclusion to be false because someone engaged in the same behavior as another person is a tu quoque.

I guess he's famous.
Bob Odenkirk?

Who? Should I have heard of him?

Plus the 4 million people who signed the change dot org petition?

Ok. That's a lot.....assuming they aren't robots.

But most of them are basically flipping a middle finger at the process, rather than seriously thinking the outcome could possibly change. Heck, I would probably have signed a petition if someone had shoved it in my face. That doesn't mean I took it seriously.

Might want to read everything very closely when you are taking completely unwarranted pot shots at someone else next time.

Yep no more PC, you can call a wetback a wetback now and you won't have to worry about being called a racist.

Actually, if we're not being PC, wouldn't you have to call someone who is racist a "racist"? You know, just tellin' like it is and we don't care if your feelings get hurt, buttercup.

They need their safe spaces everywhere though.

OOh!! 4 million.

Impressive.

Remind me again how many conservatives got duped by Trump?

62,979,616 as of last count.

Subtract the number of multi-billionaires and scumbag white nationalists, and I'd say about 60 million got duped.

as opposed to 4 million liberals.
