Yet another politics tester

It scored me at about the same level as George Bush (the elder). Which is odd since I have always considered myself pretty middle of the road, politically.

The test forces a lot of false choices, though. For example It asks "which do you trust more: Union Leaders or Business Executives". I don't trust either one, but there was no "neither" option. I can't help but wonder if I would have scored more moderately if I could have weeded out such choices.

It wasn't really a false choice, as the question was which do you trust "more". You just have to bite the bullet and decide who you generally side with more. Not perfect, of course, but them's the breaks.

Note: I don't consider this quiz a particularly accurate measure of liberalism or conservatism, as I disagree with several aspects, including the way the questions are phrased.

Agreed. Quite a few left me with the feeling of "false dichotomy".

That said, I got a 9, which places me somewhere near Hillary Clinton ;)

Yikes, I'm between Bill and Hillary

(as stright lines go, that's got to be one of the best).

I wouldn't say the _best_. It's maybe worthy of a "Huh huh, hey, Beavis.."

I got a 28.

14

I didn't Know what some of the questions meant

(who are :
the Peace Corps
Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders)

Peace Corps are some kind of volunteer force that goes to impoverished countries and shows them how to purify their water and stuff.

Jocelyn Elders was, IIRC, the liberal US surgeon general who gave us the phrase "How embarassing; my parents walked in on me while I was, you know, 'firing the surgeon general'".

Wow!!

Seriously, I was closer to Hillary than to Reagan. A lot closer ....
:D

I scored 18 - somewhere between Clinton (Bill) and Powell.

Yeah I agree. For the first part both or neither should be a category. I feel don't very good about the first part. I got a 17. Right next to Zakur.

I don't accept the premise!
Ronie was a LOT of things but Conservative????????
Since when are conservatives FOR
national dept, larger government and welfare?
(no I don't mean for the poor, I mean for corp.)
And aren’t most true conservatives also
(generally speaking) isolationist?

Reagan cut benefits to US military personnel by HUGE amounts, (some of which they are still reeling from) mostly so he could funnel money to Iranian terrorist and contra drug dealers.

The notion that HE or anything he did to end the cold war is not
only total STUPIDITY but pure Hollywood B movie fiction.

The evidence for this is rampant from all kinds of independent sources who've ACTUALLY studied the USSR, its politics, economy and military! Of course if we're talking about starting the
Christian right equivalent of the Muslim Jihad and dumbing down US politics to an unprecedented low -he is definitely your man!

I'm even more centrist than I thought. 20 for me, exactly with Colin Powell.

Woohoo, I love taking tests! This one was kinda annoying though.

9 I got.
