There is a project where folks are talking needing to report data in XBRL. From the VERY quick research I have done, it appearts to simply be an XML document standard geared toward financial reporting. There are a few rare software packages that output into it. The project I am working on has a huge number of data points that are unlikely to already exist in the standard, so those tags must be added manually.

Am I missing something? Is there something else special about XBRL?
