There is a $69 charge for a thursday workshop. I can't seem to find out what is part of this workshop? Course materials?

Yes, I'd like to know too as I plan to attend the workshop :)

The topic of the workshop is How to Communicate Skepticism to the Public. It will give pointers on communicating with the media, what "buzzwords" to use, how to write a press release, magazine articles, news articles, how to be a "talking head", etc. It will be led by Randi, Michael Shermer and Andrew Mayne who will talk about promoting science literacy and Jack Latona will discuss how to debate.

I went to the workshop last year, and it was the highlight of the meeting for me! I even put the pictures taken and the blindfold I wore up on the wall once I framed them! This year I hope we won't have to wear blindfolds the whole time;)

Seriously, it was a smaller group and very interesting. I learned so much about how JREF tests for the million dollars. I wish everyone could have gone, for now I really have a better feel for all the work JREF does. But, you could not have seen the details if there was a bigger group. Well well worth the money.

I also enjoyed the workshop last year and considering what I will spend on going to TAM III anyway the price for the workshop is only a drop in the ocean. I am just very grateful that it is another topic this year. ;)

I hope others are going to register and come to TAM3, and go to the workshop. I'm already looking forward to it and I'm sure I'll have much to think about.

I signed up for the two of us as soon as we saw it advertised - this will be very useful for me in terms of resources and we're looking forward to it. :)

All ready to go! How about writing articles for kids and such? I'd like to submit some things to the children's magazines, or write some short stories that have skeptical themes geared towards kids.

Hmm, I opted out this year, partially because of the expense, but mostly because my plane landed barely half an hour before the workshop began, and I'd already missed half of it by the time I got to the hotel. I hope to be able to attend both TAM3 and the workshop this time though :)
