I recently bought a Winfast A400 which is a Gforce 6800 GT-card which doesn't perform as well as it should. I tried updating the drivers from Nvidias and Leadteks homepages without solving the problem. I only get a score of 2330 on 3dmark2005.
Does anybody know how to solve the problem?

Well, you might consider trying to unlock extra pipelines and shaders on your card.

Here are the instructions:

  1. bench your system so you can figure out how much wonderful performance you gained for free.
  2. download rivatuner from here
  3. install rivatuner
  4. launch rivatuner (wait for the database to build for first time use)
  5. next to 256-Bit NV40 ....... DDR there is a customize button. click it.
  6. a number of icons appear, choose Low Level Settings, aka the video card icon
  7. select the NVStrap Driver page
  8. at the bottom, click the install button
  9. once it has been enabled, tick the 'allow enabling hardware masked units' checkbox.
  10. click the customize button.
  11. enable bit 3 to enable 4 more pixel pipelines
  12. enable bit 11 to enable more shader units.
  13. click ok.
  14. click ok again.
  15. it will probably ask you to reboot, do so.
  16. benchmark your wonderful new pipelines and shader units. be sure to watch for visual artifcacts.
  17. if any visual artifacting occurs, go back and disable one or the other, see if the problem persists, and use 50/50 rule accordingly.

A piece of computer hardware doesn't perform to it's manufacturers specifications. Who'da thunk it.

Depending on your computer (which we know nothing about), those marks could be perfectly normal.

Thanks but bit 3 and bit 11 were already enabled, I assume that means that all pipelines and shader units are active.

My computer is a 2500+ Barton, but I run it on 1900+ since it generates a lot of heat. I have 512 MB DDR ram. Are there other specification which might be relevant?

BTW I tried testing it in Aquamark 3 and got 33.000, but when I tried increasing the speed of the processor to 2500+ the score increased to 40.000, so it might be the processor.

Not sure I follow this. Are you saying your computer crashes when you set it to default 2500? Even the stock cheapo fan that comes with the CPU will prevent overheating at the default speed. Did you install the CPU yourself?
