Why is there no global conspiracy theory surrounding the death of John Lennon? I know there are a few Nixon conspiracies about it out there, but I thought it would be a perfect breeding ground for conspiracies. After all, all conspiracy theories are based out of the inability to accept the small can take out the powerful (Car Crash, 19 Arabs, Motiveless wacky Oswald, young guy who idolised then hated Bobby, 3 men on a ship the size of a large toilet making it to the moon). What is it about this that stops a conspiracy from taking place? I mean, it's John Lennon, arguably the most influential activist/artist ever, and one of the most famous men in the world!
There are plenty of holes. Why didn't Mark Chapman shoot John Lennon when he was signing his record near the car? Why did he wait for 3 hours? Why did he ask Lennon if there was a job going in his residence? How would a young kid with no marine training know how to make a hollow tip bullet? Why did he read Catcher in the Rye when he shot Lennon? He called out "Mr Lennon" before the shots were fired, was he trying to warn him of an NWO operative in the bushes? When the security guard shouted at him "Do you know what you have done?" why was he so keen on stating "Yes, I shot John Lennon?". When was the last time a killer admitted to the crime straight after?
Or is it because Mark Chapman so fitted the profile of a young loser, completly desensitised with life? Because he seemed like such a loser and looked so vulnerable, perhaps it was easier to blame him, rather than 19 stateless, mad arabs?
Is it because we would prefer to pick on this guy?
Rather than this guy?
I'm interested in your reasons, as it could give a good insight into conspiracism as a whole.
