I saw Bush the great compromiser talking about millions of dollars for AIDS today.
I couldn't help thinking what in the hell can governments do to stop the spread of AIDS. Are we going to send military forces armed with rubbers and night vision goggles to peek inside people's homes to see if they are having safe sex or not? This is one of the most preventable diseases in the world unless you get raped. People have known about this disease and how it's spread for the last 20 years. Unless it's getting spread by mosquitoes now and I haven't heard about it. I'm remember reading in P.J. O'roarke's book "All the trouble in the World" I believe, that diarrhea kills many times more innocent people, mostly children, than AIDS does. Of course 'bad' chemicals would be necessary to kill germs and bacteria in dirty water to make it drinkable.
Anyone have any theories?
