Why do twoofers think fireproofing is used to protect steel structural members in buildings if fire can't destroy a steel building? Seriously, what is the point? Is this some giant scam by contractors to get more money? Perhaps the NWO had been perpetrating the myth that steel buildings need fireproofing for decades in preparation for 9/11?

IIRC I raised this issue under the "amazing fireproof steel" thread a year or two ago. The Truthers completely avoided the issue.
 
That's not fireproofing, it's the supermegaultrananotherm*te in case they have come back and do a double-secret demolition later. They just say it's fireproofing so the sheeple don't get suspicious about it being there. /troof

If I may offer my opinion, I think because they believe computer simulations are worthless, they believe the same for steel material property documentation and completely misunderstand the results of the Cardington tests. Gage has stated multiple times that he thinks the beams should have "sagged slowly" and that's it. What Mr. Gage essentially did was state that plastic creep does not, cannot, ever result in the complete failure of the steel under load and weakened by heat and plastic deflection. In fact once the breaking point is reached, the failure is sudden, and progresses rapidly. Like his precedents which "prove" that fire does not cause collapses, his use of the Cardington tests as examples stops before the halfway mark of the study, just like every, other, one who parrots it. They have not read building codes, not steel specifications, nothing about it...

If they were willing to think about it, they wouldn't be making their ludicrous claims. They refuse to think about it - it makes their brains hurt.
 
Wasn't there a theory around that the fireproofing was really nano-thermite, or that the bright shiny colors were used to distract people while the bombs were...oooh shiny :rolleyes:

No. The "fireproofing" is actually superdupernanothermiteate. It's real purpose is to destroy the building in the event that the NWO/the Jews/the freemasons/the reptillians decide that destroying a particular building helps their evil plans. Architects, engineers, fire departments and the entire construction industry are in on it, of course.

See, you just have to know how to "think" like a conspiracy theorist.
