Virgin Intergalactic from a hijacking? One of their ships could ram into anything on Earth, or fire a missile, or whatever. Do I have to think of everything?

Are you serious? I doubt that this would be a very good vehicle for ramming into things. Much lighter than an airliner, and since (I think) it glides back to earth there would be little fuel on board. Probably about the same risk as a Beechcraft.

Oh, yeah? Well what if it was used to capture a bit of space debris, or heck, a whole satelitte with one of them nukular whatevers and dropped that on targets on Earth?

Yeah, you're all laughing now... Just like you laughed when I said someone's gonna ram a plane into the White House some day...

Well it is rather light weight. I think it is composite construction with a painted on heat shield. The solid fuel powered engine has a separate oxidizer tank, so I do not think it is an explosive hazard like an airliner would be. Unless someone was able to redesign the spaceship after stealing it, I doubt they could make it launch a missile. Maybe they could put a bomb in the passenger seat though. What is the range of spaceship one anyway? It is designed to go up a little over 62 miles, then drop nearly straight down after feathering it's wings. I do not think it is capable of gliding any long distance due to heating as it decends through the upper atmosphere. The White Knight "first stage" would have to bring it near the target area at airliner speeds.

Spaceship One is a prototype - hardly what Virgin Intergalactic will have a fleet of.

What do you think they will use then? It has to be cheap like Spaceship one.

There is already a waiting list of wealthy people willing to pay $250,000 to ride the thing. I think they can severely upgrade the quality of the fleet.

Or some huge amount around $250,000 - I don't know the conversion rate ATM of euros into dollars.
