"I'm very happy doing what I do," she said. "He's happy doing what he does. I think that he's doing a great job, and I think that he thinks what I do is a great job."

Dr. Steinberg said she is simply too busy to get involved in the campaign. Along with her work, and a bimonthly book group, she has volunteer commitments at Burlington High School, where the Deans' son, Paul, 17, is a senior (their daughter, Anne, 19, is a sophomore at Yale).

Frankly I think its way cool, not only for her to be a dedicated doctor and mother, but to have no apparent role in her husband's politics.
We're not going to hear criticism from the Hillary-haters are we?

If Dean has as hot a temper as they say he has, I wouldn't want to be on the campaign trail with him either. Maybe she didn't feel like being smacked around at the end of a long day.

I'm kidding!

In the impossible scenario where Dean is elected, will she move to D.C. or stay in Vermont?

Having been in both places, I'd say "Vermont" is an obvious winner here.

Let's see, walls, fences, concrete street blockers, people with guns, people with assault rifles, vs. mountains, trees, maple syrup, Ben and Jerry's.

Um, that would be "Vermont for 1000, Art". :)

I'm sorry, but if you list a book group that doesn't even meet every week among the things that take up your time... you have way too much freetime.

Anyways, why is this news? Much less a headline on drudge?

She has a full time medical practice for goshakes. Think she has any free time? Cheap shot comment.
Its a story because his opponents are trying to make it an issue.

Could it have anything to do with her being Jewish?
Well of course anything is possible. Based on the facts, what do you think?
She seems genuinely dedicated to two noble tough careers. Need something more? Hard to believe there are people like that?

I was joking. Just ruminating on the idea of Hadassah Lieberman lighting the Whit House Xmas tree.:D

I think that she, wisely, wants no part of the mess.

I couldn't care less, myself, but I doubt that the core voters of the US will see it that way. She's going to have to fake it for the cameras, If she wants her hubby to have a shot at the big time.

Just taking a wild guess here, but since she's Deans wife and has one of those hyphenated last names, I'm willing to bet a fiver that Dean's wife is Hillary2 or maybe even Hillary3.

Cheap shot? How about acting like I don't understand how much time a career in practicing medicine takes up? I was simply mentioning how awkward it was to list a "bi-monthly book group" among running a practice and raising kids.

Really? Does a canidate's spouse really have that much of an effect on the race?

My most humble groveling apologies.

I really hope that this isn't true. Would the average American prefer her to run her medical practice and help out at her son's school or be on the road with her husband, for no better reason than to stand there and smile? Are people really this stupid?

What is wrong with a hyphenated name?
