Where is the Million Dollar Challenge Blog?

Haven't been active on the forum in some time. But as TAM9 is getting so close I've been wondering where all the discussion of the challenge is. I've looked around and I'm not seeing the blog and all that stuff we were promised at TAM8.

All I find is old stuff from Remie and before that. Can someone point me to the right place?

I think that you have found a good question to ask at TAM9. There has been no such discussion on this website recently.

It does seem odd that we were promised a 'blog, but instead we are getting another secret "Million Dollar Challenge 'Event'" like last year's "event" with Anita Ikonen which was kept under wraps for no apparent reason until the last possible second.

Wardenclyffe that is what made me wonder. I was looking at the schedule trying to decide if I want to remain in Las Vegas longer (I'm flying and have to book my flight). So I saw that they have someone scheduled to do the challenge. I liked the Connie Sonne one but well the Anita one....you know...what a mess.

So I remembered that we were promised last TAM that there would be a blog with all the challenge applications (kinda like they used to do) but even better. Where we could discuss the claimants and the protocol.

They said that they were going to go "on the road" and do challenges across the country. And that it would be totally transparent.

So I'm wondering where that all is? Its been a year almost.

So that's why I started this thread. Its probably somewhere but when I searched for it I didn't see anything.

I must be confused because I also could not find the "store" for JREF on-line. If someone could point me that way I would appreciate that. Every year I purchase the TAM videos, and usually I get some kind of reminder email saying they are for sale. But this year I didn't get a message and when I went to look for it I couldn't see anything.

Wasn't Banachek put in charge of the challenge? I didn't think he was going to do the blog but only the testing.

Must be on the only link I didn't look at. LOL

You are obviously not able to put two and two together, but soon you are. Maybe before the next TAM maybe after....it really does`nt matter. You will get wiser !!

I am going to go out on a limb here. Last year, I speculated (correctly) that the MDC "event" at TAM8 would involve Anita Ikonen.

It wasn't a hard guess to make. She can't keep her trap shut and was dropping hints left and right.

I am now re-speculating that this year's MDC "event" will once again involve Anita Ikonen. This is a much bigger guess than last year. Here is my "evidence:"

1. Anita has NOT mentioned it or hinted at it anywhere that I'm aware of. Normally, this would be a point against, but after last year's leaks I'm sure JREF would specifically warn her that any leaks would disqualify her. On the other hand, there's been a flurry of updating at her website: www.visionfromfeeling.com. This could be accounted for by the fact that school's out and she has time to update, but she never seemed to have a time conflict before when she posted here (before she was banned). While school was in session, she posted thousands of long posts here. I speculate that she is getting her website all gussied up in preparation for all the attention it will receive after her MDC test.

2. I think JREF realized last year how hard it was to set up a test for her. I feel certain that if they could have found enough volunteers, they would have conducted a full-on preliminary test, but they were scrambling at the last minute to put together just one trial. They've now had a year to figure things out. If they've been mining this whole time, they might have hit a rich vein of people who are missing kidneys.

3. The updates at her website are not really about her medical intuitive claims. They are mostly about her abilities to distinguish chemicals from one another by sight or her ability to see bacteria with her naked eye. It's possible that she and the JREF have agreed to test one of those claims. That test is a lot easier to set up.

4. Anita had a good time at TAM last year and I'm sure she would enjoy hob-knobbing (and flirting) with all the skeptics again this year.

5. JREF likes (I think) to conduct tests (this is certainly arguable). Anita loves to be tested. It's the perfect match. She can keep coming back with new claims to be tested (she's got dozens of them) and the JREF can have an event every year at TAM in which she fails. She can become the Washington Generals of the paranormal world.

Again, pure speculation on my part.

Anyone got any other guesses?

Ward

Wardenclyffe, you are probably right, but does ANYBODY EVER ask WHY they use Ikonen ???? I know !!

Connie

If it's Anita again, I am definitely skipping the MDC event this year. It'll be yet another waste of time.

In an update on her website today (which I read after my earlier post) she says that she is participating in a test this month involving seeds and fungus. She does not say whether she's conducting the test herself or if there's a testing organization, but she says it's happening this month: http://www.visionfromfeeling.com/seedtest.html

Just rumor mongering,

Ward

Well Ward. I predict that there won't be a Million Dollar Challenge this year. There is no blog, even after promising that they would have one up after TAM8. There is no way to discover if they are even actively processing claims. The JREF Forum is extremely active in helping to set up protocols, this year it was just Banochek handling everything (just judging from what they said last TAM). Without the Forum helping I would think this could be an overwhelming task to do.

Also the challenge is really late on Sunday. Thats crazy if you want people to attend. Most people fly home on Sunday and getting tickets really late on a Sunday night are non-existent or very expensive. Esp because they have to be really late (allowing time to leave the challenge, get to the airport, check in early ect).

I know a lot of people driving to TAM from the LA area, thats a 4 hour drive. They aren't wanting to start on that drive at 10pm (after a full day of TAM).

I and my son are flying out Monday morning (which is what we did TAM8) and it is a lot easier and cheaper of a flight. But I think we are the exception not the rule.

Finding an applicant that will go through all the protocols and back and forth is really difficult. We at the IIG get many emails asking for info, but 96% never write back when we ask them to fill out the form, or more simply when we ask "what can you do?". The remaining 4% usually don't answer after the second exchange and that leaves us with the 2 people we might test each year. Just getting to that stage can take years to set up. Nelson took 5 years (?) to set up the protocol and VfF was also years.

So to recap, the time is very difficult to do for most people. There is no blog or mention on the forums to help out setting up the protocol. And if it is her again, your going to have a hella lot of people pissed off.

Ward you might be right. She might be the one testing for meds. I'm sure they warned her not to say a peep, but still she isn't called Ineedattention for nothing.

What's the event that happened in New York yesterday?

Noel, it was just the recording of a show about psychics. It will air in a couple of weeks. Swiss, Grothe and Banochek did it.
