What is this innocent question about?

Is it about Jews being complete idiots? No, move along.

That's what I like about "AUP's writing: such high-class wit, and what's more, without even a hint of antisemitism.

Perhaps a_u_p's humor is very eccentric Skeptic...like Andy Kaufman's was. It reminds me of a joke...

A bum walked up to the Jewish mother on the street and said: 'Lady, I haven't eaten in three days.

'Force yourself,' she replied.

thats interesting...Is the statement "jews are complete idiots" anti-semitic?

It was just in response to threads like this

I don't like to see people behaving like this any less than anyone else. Mycroft likes to imply that all Palestinians think like this, however, and that it is just something intrinsic to them as a culture. My thread was just a parody of that idea.

Jews, and Palestinians, are a diverse group of people who think and believe a lot of different things.

For a more reasonable thread from me, Skeptic, try this one here
.

Mycroft has already berated me for making such remarks, and my response is, stop giving me the opportunity. I only ever make them in response to what I see is racist posting from your friends.

Don't sweat it...as Skeptic has argued long and hard, statements like "Jews are complete idiots" cannot be regarded as anti-semitic.

Mycroft has also spent many a jolly hour defending such statements. Of course, the word Jew was replaced with Arab but that should not make any difference...should it?

No I don't.

What I like to do is highlight actions that are deliberately designed to inspire hate and violence in the Middle East. In this case, the issue is not merely that several mothers of "martyrs" proudly proclaim how great it is to have sacrificed a child to kill someone, but that Al-Manar TV has made a program celebrating and encouraging this behavior. Al-Manar TV, IIRC, is not only broadcast in Arabic lands, but in parts of Europe as well.

If I were to highlight similar behavior from Christians in the United States, say Jack Van Impe, I think it would be understood I wasn’t trying to imply that all Americans thought like that, or that lunatic obsession with biblical prophesy and conspiracy theory was something intrinsic to American (even Christian American) culture. Yet somehow, when I illustrate hatred from Arabs, it’s assumed I mean to smear all Arabs. That’s just wrong.

The problem is with your perception. My target is the television station that promotes hatred and the audience that eats it up (which I presume is not all Arabs). That you interpret this as commentary on all Palestinian-Arabs is a product of your own mind.
