I was so intrigued by the first one on the list that I emailed the author and asked him if it was a spoof (like the Guardian correspondent, I saw the similarities to the famous Sokol paper). I had an email back declaring that it was entirely serious, indeed cutting-edge science, and attaching copies of yet more outpourings in the same vein. Including the one the Guardian has picked up on.

You just couldn't make this stuff up.

Homeopathy is scientifically banned, both for lack of consistent empirical findings, but more so for lack of a sound theoretical model to explain its purported effects.

I see no point in coming up with theories for phenomena which empirically cannot be shown to exist.
