I've been using the basic Nero WAV program for a small project. Although it's easy to use, it won't allow me to fade out of one track at the same time as fading in another which I really need to do.

Any recommendations ?

I've done a lot of stuff with wav files, but not used the Nero program or tried to do what you are doing.

If it's at all similar to Cakewalk, you can hover over the very end of the clip and the icon will change. Drag it to the right or left to fade out or in. If you overlay the clips it may do what you want.

Soundforge will do that and a lot more....

If you don't need that much editing power, and just want to put your songs together for a mix tape, try PC DJ.

If all you want to do is Crossfade, then even the paid version of Musicmatch jukebox will do that.

I'd second Soundforge. Does everything.

If you can't afford that (!), Goldwave is good. Shareware. Does the job in most cases. Also CoolEdit Pro.

Rat.

I like cooledit, use it alot.

It seems adobe bought syntrillium out. They canned all the support and have only recently released cooledit rebranded as 'audition'. I got ratty because I'd lost my serial number and they weren't interested in emailling it to me again. Syntrillium always had pretty good customer service.

I can't say what audition is like, but it seems to cost quite a bit more than I paid for cooledit.
Maybe it includes all the add-ons that were extra before.

Really? That sucks. I liked CoolEdit. I guess that explain why I couldn't get updates.
