Hi all .
The Mystery Investigators (with a bit of help of Mr. Ratbag) performed
at the ABC TV and Radio building in Sydney yesterday as part of science week.
It was a long day with many people stopping to watch our
demonstrations. At one point a `real' water diviner came up and wanted
to show us his skills. We put through all the pre-tests, making sure
the area was `clear' of interference, making sure he could divine
water in a plastic jug and then making sure he could divine water in a
plastic jug under an opaque plastic container. Yes… all of these he
did with no trouble at all with the crowd gasping as his divining rod
moved as if my magic. I whispered to Alynda that his guy must have
been sent by the Gods. Then came "OK everyone. Now will do it as a
blind test." Our diviner turned his back and we hid the bottle under
one of our six opaque plastic containers. Oh dear… his powers suddenly
evaporated. He tried three times and failed. I gave him a Great Water
Divining Video for being willing to give it a go in front of a crowd
and he was delighted with that. I'm sure by now, having had a night to
think about it, he has come up with an excuse or two as to why he failed.
