I have a lot of wasps near my house and they frequently find their way inside.
This morning I caught one (don't like killing things even if I am terrified of them)
and I put the glass down on the sill with half the glass open so that he could find his way out without my help (I really don't like them)
What I want to know is why they can't figure out the way out.
I watched him go around and around in the same path for ages until I got bored.
Do they have different ways of sensing temperature or seeing?
Is he just in shock from being caught?
or are they just stupid?

Just curious to see if anyone knows

Was the glass upside down? If you notice, most insects will crawl to the top of a container. Flip the container upside down, it will rotate its body 180 degrees and keep going what it thinks is "up." So, if you want it to get out, it the glass might have had to be flipped.
