Oh, what the heck. Here it is. The shoe thread. Split from here.

Anita, since you say you can have medical perceptions through ordinary clothes, can you "see" a person's foot through ordinary shoes?

If so, how much of the rest of the person's body do you need to be able to see with regular vision, to "see" medical conditions in their normally-clothed foot?

...

Wondering if one empty shoe beside one occupied shoe, both protruding from under a screen, is too easy to set up.

VFF replied:

Pup, that is a brilliant idea.

And here we are.

Follow the shoe!

I am glad to see Vision from Feeling express approval for this test. Logistically it has many advantages over the kidney test.

Cheers,

Dave

No offense to Pup, but it remains to be seen whether Anita will ever follow through on a brilliant idea. She says that so often, it has become meaningless.

Put your money where your mouth is, cupcake.

Follow the shoe!

No follow the gourd. ;)

Brilliant Idea we should have thought of this back when itall started.

This should be as try out as the cereal experiment.

I expect some outstanding results initially following by the implementaion of some basic controls that had already been mentioned.

Essential:
Unblinded initial test
Preagreed protocol
Pre agreed number of trials*
Pre agreed pass mark
Proper randomisation**
No trailling laces!
Ballast in unfilled shoes.
Prior to viewing the sitter should remove both shoes, insert the ballast in one and their foot in the other before refastening.
Minimum amount of shoe should be visible

Beneficial
Perhaps test for infomration leakage using a control observaer also trying to predict which foot is occupied.
Perhaps post photographs of the set-up so we can evaluate the possibility of sensory leakage.
Perhaps repeat the feet feat in front of a local sceptics group.

* Fatigue means take a break not quit whilst ahead.

** I can supply a random number table if anita has now lost the die she acquired shortly before shutting up about the cereal test.

Now if I was a cynic I'd say that a dellusional person wouldn't allow herself to implement all of these recomendation. They'd try it a few different ways to see what "works." But actually selectively report wjhat appeared to work. Reproducable results would only occur when certain subsets of these essential precautions were ignored.

Here go go again. Anita, under what conditions can you determine which of two shoes has a foot in it? From what distance and for how long do oyu have to look at them?

Usually this is the kiss of death for any claim from VFf.

Hoping to be surprised though.

I predict however that VFf will do an in home test of some sort and then let us know that this is also not doable because: leather is too much like human tissue to see through, there are no kidneys in shoes, it's not her Main Claim TM she needs to see a person before she can detect if there is a person, forced choice makes her dizzy, she needs reference samples, or sumtin else TM

And how does this not contradict all the limitations as to why she can't see someone behind a screen?

So let's get this straight:

She can see through a T-Shirt but she can't see through an identical thickness curtain, that is because there is a gap greater than X (where X is unknown but less than 1 millimetre).
But this gap does not prevent Anita seeing through clothes (where shoes are included as clothes), even if the gap or thickness where clothes are involved is greater than a millimetre.

I love how we have come all the way from molecular level 3-d vision and total chemical and biological scanning of humans, animals, insects and plants to... "I can see if a shoe has a foot in it".

The biggest problem is: How do you lock down the shoe with the foot in it so that it does not move or flex?

All it takes is a slight change in pressure or someone adjusting their position and the one shoe with the foot in it WILL move or flex.

There is a large chance that there will be information leakage no matter how hard the test subject tries to keep the foot and shoe from moving.

I think that this will be very hard to set up properly.

Admit it! This is petty jealousy because this wasn't adopted:

It seems that we have overlooked probably the easiest test that could be done.
Use a full screen and VfF has to tell if there is someone on the other side or not.
10 trials and only once in the 10 trials will there be no one behind the screen.

It should be easy to for her to detect if there is a person/isn't a person behind the screen, right?

What if you use a large rubber boot? You cut off the front so that it resembles a croc, you glue that firmly to the floor. The test subject would slip his/her foot into in. The screen would be glued to the boot as well.

Maybe you can use both shoes, and attach them to each other with glue or a clamp of some sort. Or nail both to the same board. Decide by coin flip which shoe will have a foot in it and fill the other with ballast.
If the person adjusts their position the empty shoe should copy the movement exactly.

Yeah, that's it! :D

I have to admit, as I was sitting here thinking, the same idea occurred to me.

And as I think about this further, I don't really see the difference between this and the suggestion I made. After all, she is not detecting that the person is MISSING a foot.

She dismissed the detection of a person behind a screen as "Remote Viewing", yet this is basically the same thing.

That would make it even more like Emily Rosa's TT study.

Well of course no, there's no difference in reality. But we're not dealing with reality here, we're dealing with paranormal claims. She stated at some point that she needs to know the location. The tip of the shoe gives her that.

I actually don't think you could parody this claim now if you tried.

But what the hell, I'm all for this shoe claim. Let's do it! I'm excited.

If she can pass this, Anita's got to be a shoe-in for the million.
