Any suggestions? I'm currently using Amarok. The simpler the better. I just want to play MP3s. No burning, ripping, playlist making....

If you want a really simple one, Audacious is a pretty good XMMS/Winamp clone. Works well, and is still maintained I think.

Banshee is somewhere inbetween Audacious' simplicity and Amarok's fanciness.

I use Songbird as well. I know you're looking for simplicity, but I really like a lot of the add-ons, like the one that pops up the lyrics of the song that playing, or the one that shows when the currently playing band is coming in concert to your town.

Nobody ever comes to my town. Guess that is the problem with being at the center of the universe :)

I found a cool program yesterday.
Synaptic pakkehåndtering, it is under system>administration and let me download all kinds of programs from the ubuntu downloadpage.
Including VLC mediaplayer.

(not intended as a joke, feel free to laugh anyway, I can take it)
