On the previous version, when I was in the iTunes store doing searches, I was able to change all the column widths (name, album, artist...) so that I could read everything in the column. With this newer version, I am unable to figure out how to do that. Is it possible?

Also, when playing music, how do I increase the time between songs?

No go on both question, I'm afraid.

Table column widths are fixed in the new iTunes store. They scale with your window size, but that's it. You do know that you can use the iTunes store in a separate window, with no sidebar, by double-clicking the sidebar entry? Won't allow to change the column width, but that way you maximize the real-estate the store display can use.

No global setting for gaps between song for playback, either. There's one for burning CDs, but not for playback. The only global setting for affecting the switching between songs is the crossfade slider in the preferences -- have you tried the extremes of that? Otherwise, there are only two settings I know of for each song: the "part of a gap-less album" check mark, and the "start time"/"stop time" (the latter only for 'cropping' songs, you cannot lengthen the stop time to add silence, for instance).
