Truthers are Vandals

This weekend I spent a lot of time watching 9/11 related stuff on TV, most notably, the show about the rebuilding in progress at ground zero. I was in awe of the hard work, dedication, and passion of the people involved. They are making a difference by creating something that will stand for generations in honor of those who died there.

At the same time, I thought about truthers and became angry. I thought about the fact that some of them will no doubt may try to disrupt the memorial service planned for the upcoming tenth anniversary, which the builders at ground zero have been working so hard to prepare for. The people who died at the site deserve to be remembered, and the people working to preserve their memory deserve our admiration. Truthers, on the other hand, seem to carry the attitude of a petulant child who is angry that he is not the center of attention at a funeral. "MEEEEE!" the truthers seem to say. "Pay attention to MEEEEE!!"

On one hand we have the Creators, who pour their hearts into honoring the memory of the fallen, and whose actions are an even greater tribute than the end result. On the other hand, we have the Truthers, who have produced nothing but bile and groundless accusations.

It's vandalism, plain and simple. It's not property they are vandalizing, it is ideals...ideals far beyond the truthers' capacity to understand and appreciate.

That's all. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

It's true. I am sure this year there will be a handful of pathetic twoofers there disrupting the whole thing. Twoofers are some of the most despicable people on the planet. Hopefully there will be a few debunkers there though to counter the nonsense. I know it may seem like that would only add to the distraction, but in all honesty I think it's important. I know if I had died on one of those flights or if I were a family member of one of the victims, I would want someone there defending the real truth about what happened.

I should mention that it was a relief to watch several hours of intelligent discussion about 9/11 without any of the idiocy leaking through. Not one mention of conspiracy theories...I wonder why?

(There were a couple of shows on about conspiracy theories, but...old news. Didn't watch.)

I'm sure the authorities will protect the truthers' constitutional rights by assigning them a designated protest area, far away from the memorial service.

Thank you, Mr Fence. I was a wee bit concerned my little bon mot might have flown over the head of the average American. Lord knows that most of them do seem to have great difficulty in identifying ANYTHING that flies over their heads

Interesting that you would wish to deflect away from the point of the OP. The Vandals are symbolic, you seem to wish to forget, for their senseless destruction of things of value.

The term 'intellectual vandalism' is entirely appropriate to describe a disgruntled fringe group of persons who refuse to show any respect for the knowledge of the established culture. An intellectual vandal, such as yourself, is not seeking truth, but instead seeks to destroy the current paradigm (whatever it happens to be) and replace it with one fashioned by your own inflated ego.

You are doomed to a life of frustration, an outcast, if you persist in this.

Looking on Youtube videos and 9/11 retrospective article comments, I'd say the vandals are out in full force. Feels like we took a trip back to 2006, but the way things look in the comments specifically, it looks like the same people are saying the same things, only using different names.
