Hello all.

In a further display of audacious self-immolation, the Donald is now trying to destroy both himself and the Republican Party.

As for my opinion, I do hope that he succeeds at both since the Republican leadership is so full of stupid, idiotic, liars and about the best thing for the nation is to have the lot of them flushed down the toilet along the worthless fool that they latched their wagons to.

Donald Trump: 'The shackles have been taken off me'

Washington (CNN)Donald Trump is launching a kamikaze mission -- fracturing his own party four weeks before Election Day.

...

"It is so nice that the shackles have been taken off me and I can now fight for America the way I want to," Trump said in a tweet that raised the prospect of a full on civil war in the Republican Party. Such a battle would pit his loyal supporters against the rest of the GOP, including vulnerable lawmakers running for re-election that could threaten the party's hold on Congress.

...

"Our very weak and ineffective leader, Paul Ryan, had a bad conference call where his members went wild at his disloyalty," Trump tweeted.

...

"Despite winning the second debate in a landslide (every poll), it is hard to do well when Paul Ryan and others give zero support," he also tweeted.

...

Trump will have his first chance to demonstrate his shackle-free approach at an evening rally in Florida on Tuesday night, that could offer a preview of how he plans to act in the final four weeks of the election, if his campaign tips into a deeper free-fall.

I just hope thay the republican party can reorganize itself into something more sane once this crap storm is over. I don't think a dissolution of the party does the country any good. I'm not fond of a single party system that has reduced checks and balances... not to say the current state of affairs is particularly good

Lol. That's some reality denial.

He will go full dictator.

It is cute that you think or pretend to think it would end up in one-party system. If republicans commits sepukku, I predict that democrats almost instantly fall apart into two parties - Hillarists and Sanderists. In other words, instead of sane right and insane loony degenerate right it will be sane left and sane right. Wonderful.

Hopefully this upheaval would be also opportunity to reform political system of USA, like getting rid of gerrymandering etc.

...hey, I can dream.

Those backstabbing Republicans!

Calling on all Trump supporters to punish them the only way they'll understand: by voting only for Democrats for the Senate!

Outstanding!

Since we'll only be treated to a few more weeks by this world-class buffoon, make them entertaining!

I envision Trump and Steve Bannon found the pillow Kellyanne Conway hid the android device under and are gleefully tweeting while she's pounding on the other side of a locked door. Her own phone ominously pinging every 5 seconds.

These tweets are coming from all the devices now. The campaign has gone full Bannon. They're no longer trying to win just humiliate Clinton and get as many deplorables to shell out for their new channel after the election.

It's very tough to say. The Republican party has been fractured for several years now only the attempt was made to blur the line between Republican and Tea Partiers. Seeing Trump slip to 35% in the polls, hard core Trump supporters represent less than that since there will be hard core republicans who will still vote their party line. But if it's 15-20% that's a sizeable voting block which the Republican party needs for any sort of electoral win. So the question is which is the path of least resistance: moderate Republicans going along to get along or Trumpers becoming sane!

Scary to think but there can be a further right wing swing in the Republican party. Especially when Trump/Bannon/Hannity start their own cable news network because Fox isn't extreme enough! :jaw-dropp

Could happen. You never know. A split into two parties by the left could happen if that doomsday scenario for repubs carried out. But the country still takes a hard left dive in the absence of a serious contending conservative party. Or perhaps what you meant more of... what defines "conservative" shifts

It's become very clear that Donald really, really doesn't understand politics, and further, that politics cannot be explained to him.

There is a vast machine in the US that exists to determine what voters think, what they want, and how best to at least appear to be somebody who wants to give 51%+ of them those things.

Trump just doesn't understand that machine. I don't think he's lying when he claims all the polls favour him. I think he goes online, clicks onto his favourite "news sources" - Breitbart and the like - and sees that he's massively ahead in their online polls. And he looks at the big crowds he draws compared to Hillary's small crowds. And... that's it. That means he must be winning.

I'm sure Ms Conway must have explained to him a dozen times that the above means he has a sizeable group of very determined supporters, and that this does not beat Hillary's rather larger but rather less enthusiastic group. But Trump just can't seem to take that on board.

And I'm sure she must have explained to him again and again that things which make his base go "Hell yeah, tell it like it is, Donald!" serve only to further enthuse those who are already committed to voting for him, whilst leaving those who are dubious unconvinced if not actively repelled. But he just can't seem to take that on board. Again, he says things, the audience cheers - so he must be winning. Because that's what matters to him. The cheers, the adulation. How can he not be winning if crowds cheer? That's what winning is, to Trump.

The election night defeat is going to hit Donald really hard. Harder than it hit Mitt Romney. I don't think he is ever going to be able to comprehend how it could have happened to him.

You're saying it's all Trump hands on deck now?

Didn't know that. Thought it was just Trump.

And I would say that there is a certain part of this of Trump simply not capable of admitting defeat. He'll blame everyone and everything but him. Then he can rise from the ashes unscathed.

I'm not worried. There will always be opposition. Maybe it will be much better for the country. Instead of a knee jerk reaction just because something is proposed by the opposition, we can consider each issue on its merits and not have to deal so much with party politics.

Trump's going back to his Charlie Sheen-like meltdown. Deluded supporters are cheering him on, he thinks he's "winning," but he's on a collision course with a solid wall of reality.

Thanks much! That is the best analogy that I have ever seen about Trump.

One has to wonder if 'the Donald' has tiger blood in his veins?

I'm not too worried about losing the two part system. Our history has shown that a party that starts to get marginalized frequently adopts more populist ideals before losing support. The history of the Whig party shows also that even if a party ceases to exist, another will pop up. I think the only way for us not to have 2 party+ system is for us to move away from democratic ideals and make constitutional changes to support that.

Next thing you know Trump will be pitching "Tiger's blood".
