Trump to head nation's 4th of july celebration

Probably will fail on some level as Trump would have to work with the city to do anything like this and they will not be keen on their regular celebration being hijacked for his rally.

Think the military parade silliness he tried to foist in everyone so he could play tinpot dictator. It ended when the city asked for reasonable costs.
 
So the president who organises a delivery of of Big Macs for (half of) a visiting sports team instead of catering a proper reception thinks he is capable of organising a massive public fireworks display in Washington DC. His laughable farce of an inauguration ball in 2017 where he pocketed tens of millions and produced a rank-amateur shambles should have been the first warning.

I'm guessing he will hold his rally for the few remaining Trumpites with no bling organised at all, then point at the official fireworks elsewhere in the city and try to claim credit for them instead. They will lap it up.

Let him. He'll either stick to a boring script, or fly off the handle and reinforce the long-preexisting divide.
 
This will be like the National Abortion Rights Action League and Right to Life had rallies on the National Mall during meeting the of the World Trade Organization. If you're planning to attend, remember to shower in cool water after being tear gassed or pepper sprayed.
 
I'm glad Trump decided that celebrating the 4th of July was to be done with fireworks.
 
Will an immigrant be executed just as the brass band starts up with Stars & Stripes Forever? Or do they wait for the finale?
 
I'm sure he'll have a few immigrants on stage, just to show that he isn't racist. To show that he gets along with "the good ones."
 
I hope his success at little indoor rallies hasn’t convinced him that he is ready for a large outdoor rally in DC. He won’t be received as well as he might expect to be.

My first thought was that's a good point. He can't control the crowds at the fireworks display.

My second thought was, oh, hell. Protestors on the Fourth of July is what he wants. That is some seriously bad optics.

Anyone want to bet on him trying to control them? Put some fences up around the sites, require a ticket to get in, only let the Right People in. You know, Freedom Style!

He'll have the biggest, most enthusiastic crowd in the history of the Fourth. Just like at his inauguration.

Fourth of July on the Mall is hellish enough without adding Trump to the mix.
