Trump Speech: Crossroads

Halloween is coming soon- is that the basis of the OP (well, OC, for Opening Copy).

Skipping to the comments unearthed this treasure (formatting in original):

"wHAT A BEAUTIFUL SPEECH FOR AMERICA AND HER FUTURE PLEASE PEOPLE RISE UP AND LETS GET DONALD IN WE NEED TO GET OUR COUNTRY OUR BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY BACK FRO THE HANS OF EVIL"

I particularly like the "Hans of Evil."

Inspires the imagination.

I knew the guy in college- a real pain in the butt.

How can Trump make America great again, if it wasn't even great once?

There was an editorial with the headline, "Trump, making America hate again."
But shouldn't all of this be in one of the Trump politics threads?

BBC article on the same:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-us-2016-37741792

And the highlights of his 'policy' plans:

restrictions on White House officials becoming lobbyists after they leave office.

term limits for members of Congress.

the cancellation of all payments to UN climate change programmes and the redeployment of those funds to fix US infrastructure.

the start of the process of "removing the more than two million criminal, illegal immigrants" - and the denial of visa-free travel to countries who refused to take back their citizens.

The first strikes me as laudable but unworkable. Number two likewise. Number three probably violates agreements the US has signed and number four would appear to require more deportations in 100 days than Obama has managed in 8 years, and he has deported more illegals than any President before him.

It's a funny speech. It's a kind of socialism in some ways, railing against big business, elites and wealth distribution. It's also very nationalistic. A kind of National Socialism.

For somebody as rich as Trump is to ranting agains big business and elites is the funniest thing ever. ANd his attack on wealth distribution goes against his stated tax policy with it huge cuts for the upper income brackets.
Nationalism has been one of the hallmarks of the Trump campaign, with it's paranoid fear of other countries.
Someone said that the difference between Patriotrism and Nationalism is that Patriotrism is based on love of your country, and Nationalism is based on hatred of other countries.

This was in his already-crashed-and-burned week when he went full-bore conspiradroid. Not surprising the OP thinks it's brilliant... after having been so informed by such a credible (cough) source. I kept thinking he'd segue into Precious Bodily Fluids and was disappointed.
