Trump and money

Trump brags about everything. From his golf game to his business acumen, to his intelligence to the size of his penis.

Most of all Trump brags about his money. How rich he is. Trump has on various occasions said he is worth 4 billion, 6 billion, even 10 billion dollars. As recently as February of 2022, Trump said his net worth is between 8 and 9 billion dollars. He said a few months ago that he has 400 million dollars in cash.

Does he? Trump is facing some very big bills. By the end of March 11th, Trump must post a cash appeal bond for more than 90 million dollars. By the end of March 26th, he must post another cash appeal bond for about 500 million dollars. If he fails to post either of these bonds, the plaintiffs will immediately begin the process to seize Trump's assets.

Trump certainly appears as if he is scrambling to gather the funds to post the bonds. Which leads many pundits to speculate that Trump doesn't have it.. That the Trump empire is an illusion built entirely on braggadocio.

(Anything about Trump's money, debts, assets, net worth or how he might pay his debts is welcome in this thread.)

What do you think? Is the Emperor naked?

He's going to be fine. He'll sell some lesser known asset and claim that he'd forgotten he had it and it smelled all musty anyway and whoever bought it is a sucker and a Democrat.

Good news for Trump.

GoFundMe has raised 970 thousand dollars in the last week to help with his legal debts.

Bad news for Donald Trump.

Interest on his legal debts in that week; 956 thousand dollars.

More bad news.

GoFundMe donations are taxable as personal income.

Even worse news

Judgments are not.

Am I right in reading that the Verdict meant that Trump can't borrow money from a bank with offices in New York?

Yes. But I have no idea how that works as it relates to settling the judgment.

It does in that Trump has within the next three years hundreds of millions in loans due at Banks located in New York.

Anyone willing to underwrite a Bond for Trump while he is going through the Appeals process should know that he will be broke very soon, when he has to find brand new lenders who won't just roll over his debt for another five years.

As for me, I would gladly donate two cents to the Trump legal fund because a cat like Trump is worth every penny.

Don't get me wrong. I think it will have a huge impact on Trump's business. I just don't know what that will be. And it's some of the injunctive relief I question as so draconian that I wonder if they will hold up.

I'm sure all this will be a massive pain for Trump up until he takes office again and undoes it all. Then he'll have his revenge on individuals and systems, and enrich himself many times over what he lost.

Even more worse news:

The person running the go fund me is almost definitely a scam artist, and it's very unlikely even a single penny will go to T****y.

I thought about that too.

But I thought whoever was running the scam would just take a big slice off the top. This is why I choose my charities very carefully. It's amazing just how few of them funnel more than pennies on the dollar to the charity they represent.

Trump is barely treading water. His daily nut is huge. I not so secretly look forward to reading about Trump and the Trump Organization bouncing checks.

Covering Trump's penalty might be a good investment for a foreign power or some other shady entity. And according to talking heads, we might never know about it.

I admit it never occurred to me that Donald Trump might not be nearly as rich as he claimed. So good we have a thread dedicated to skeptical examination of this claim. /s

Of course /s

This thread is an emotional outburst, not a skeptical examination. For shame.
