Trifkovic is the brilliant foreign affairs specialist and essayist for Chronicles Magazine. Chronicles is a paleo-conservative publication.

Actually, he says we understate the case, at least for the wars he mentions in a recent article Misallocated Infamy, about FDR's WW2 perfidy:

The late Murray Rothbard is said to have often argued that, far from being evidence of a “paranoid” strain in the American mind, belief in conspiracies as a factor in American history was usually not taken far enough. The truth behind most conspiracies, he alleged, was far more heinous and diabolical than even the most diehard conspiracy theorist suspected. The events leading up to the Day of Infamy in 1941 prove him right, no less than those preceding U.S. wars against Mexico, the Confederacy, Spain (1898), Serbia (1999), or Iraq (2003). In all of those cases diplomacy did not “fail” because it was not used to avert war, but to make certain its coming.

The article is excellent (as most of his usually are), and I highly recommend it.

I love the way fruitcakes cite other fruitcakes to prove their point, not realising that does not work.

Wow, what a stunning refutation. While Trifkovic didn't go into details about the wars he cited, he did do so in the case of WW2.

But you showed him, didn't you? And me, too! Trifkovic is a "fruitcake".

Laughable. Actually, I'll bet Trifkovic has more brains in either pinkie toe than you do between your ears. Metaphorically speaking, of course. :)

Welcome to my ignore list.

Typical nutbag attempt to substitute suspicion, pointing out miscellaneous "anomalies", and wild speculation for hard evidence. There's nothing new here.

It doesn't sound like anything more than an attempt to use 9/11 Truth™ to protest the current wars.

Trifkovic says nothing about 911 Truth in Misallocated Infamy, and furthermore has never espoused any 911 MIHOP or LIHOP position (AFAIK, and I do read most of his stuff). He's quite content to blame just Muslims. Ditto for the Mumbai attacks (and he has recently called for helping Pakistan disintegrate), though there's reports of this being blowback by a CIA associate Dawood Ibrahim, who is still doing business with the CIA, but feared being betrayed as the US tries to forge closer ties with India. IOW, Ibrahim is a criminal who uses fanatic Muslims, in spite of the best interests of Pakistan and the ISI. This makes sense to me because I can't figure out, for the life of me, what Pakistan would have to gain by enraging their nuclear armed neighbor.*

In other words, your comment makes no sense, at all. The title of this thread is "Trifkovic puts in a good word for conspiracy theorists", not "Trifkovic puts in a good word for 911 conspiracy theorists". Maybe he should, but he hasn't, so far.

* I suppose the same argument could be applied to Kashmir, where it would fail, but I don't want to get into that. Suffice it to say that the two situations are different, though I find the behavior of Muslim fanatics in Kashmir to be disgusting. I'm thinking especially of the dudes that throw acid in women's faces.

What a flipping surprise, the Paleo-con is citing Stinnett, who absolutely no expert of WW2 history, codebreaker expert, or even WW2 history hobbyist has found even remotely credible in the slightest.

Done. Move on.

And Stinnett is not even original,he is just regurgitating crap that has been around since the late 40's. It seems to have found it's first real voice with Harry Elmer Barnes.
It says something that Barnes, the father of Pearl Harbor Conspiracy theories, is also the father of Holocaust Denial.Whatta guy.
